Call it an audacious idea but Amazon chief executive Jeff Bezos seriously thinks that the company can put together a working model to deliver packages under 30 minutes through it’s new service, Amazon Prime Air, delivery-by-drone.
In a TV program “60 Minutes” aired on CBS Channel on Sunday, Jeff unveiled the ‘Prime Air’ drone and discussed the futuristic delivery method. Accordingly, the drones would be capable of flying packages under 5 pounds in small buckets from Amazon’s warehouses and fly directly to customers nearby within 10 miles range in as little as 30 minutes once the users completes the ‘buy’ action in the Amazon website.
Amazon has even released a video to showcase how the Prime Air program would work. Watch the video below. Hold on your excitement, the Amazon boss also clearly mentioned it would take couple of years for the company to fine-tune the process and also it might have to get necessary approvals from the Government regulatory bodies.
