Micromax Unite 2 is the Company’s First Android KitKat Smartphone, Priced at Rs 6,999

India’s 2nd largest smartphone manufacturer today launched Micromax Unite 2,  its first Android 4.4.2 KitKat Smartphone powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor and supporting 2o Indian regional languages apart from English.

The dual-SIM Micromax Unite 2 sports a 4.7-inch Bright Graph IPS dispaly with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. The device comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, and can be expanded to an additional 32GB via microSD card. On board complimenting the quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz is a 1GB of RAM.

On camera specifics, Unite 2 is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera with flash and a 2-megapixel front camera and the software features include beauty mode, live photo mode and panorama mode. The battery pack included reads 2000mAh.


The included Reverie multilingual pack will make the consumers not comfortable with English to interact via their regional languages and hence giving the phone a wider appeal and leverage. Reverie phonebook and Reverie smartpad allows to save contacts, type, text in the preferred language. Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth v4.0 and WiFi.

Priced competitively at Rs 6,999 , Micromax Unite 2 will come in four colors – Grey, Green, Red and White colour variants.

“India is a diverse country and language at times can act as a barrier for people to seamlessly communicate on their phones. Therefore, we firmly believe that support for local languages on phones will perhaps be the next big driver for day to day phone transactions, internet usage and online content consumption in India given that most of the population does not use English as their primary language.” stated Mr. Shubhodip Pal, CMO, Micromax .

He further added, “With the launch of the Micromax Unite 2, our aim is to enable local customization to serve the unique needs of Indian consumers across multiple markets. We aim to create a powerful medium for our consumers to interact, engage, entertain and connect in their preferred language to remove any barrier for technology adoption for the masses in the country.”
