LG G6 : 7 Compelling Reasons to Buy the Phone NOW

When LG launched the G6  in India, it was priced at Rs 51,000 but soon the price nose dived and now it is available around 38K in India which makes it more attractive buy all of a sudden. Here are some awesome, enticing features that LG G6 packs in.

Waterproof:

LG G6 is IP68 certified and is one of the very few waterproof smartphones we can buy now with which you can actually dive into a pool or not worry about dropping into bath tub while you are on an interesting call. It also happens to be the affordable water proof Smartphone out there in the market. So take a shower reading the mail, take it into swimming pool to take some pics without worries.

Design | Build quality

One of the strong pitch for the G6 is its build quality and design. The phone is made of glass on either sides and is strengthened by Gorilla glass 5 at the back (surprisingly, the front has to content with Gorilla 3!) and a solid looking metallic frame around the sides. While the rear is glass, a neat job underneath the glass sheet gives it a metallic feel to it. Holding it on the hand definitely will invite second look from others and is easily a good looking phone next only to Samsung Galaxy S8. The dual camera with the LED at the middle of both the eyes and the fingerprint sensor a little below, is kind of cute!

Aspect Ratio

LG G6 has a 5.7″ display which might be little big for many. Personally, I love big display which is great for gaming and media consumption, the G6 felt compact than most of the 5.5-inch smartphones and that is due to the 18:9 aspect ratio that you don’t normally come across in phones. It’s a tall design and it makes the 5.7″ screen extremely compact on hand. The two perfect squares that can be split on the screen also makes multi screen work charm on the phone.

Display

The 5.7-inch display features a 2K resolution. The G6 also boasts of being the world’s first Smartphone with Dolby vision and HDR10 support, a technology borrowed from some premium television models. The display is true to the natural colors, pleasant and highly accurate.

Always On Display

Adding a feather to the cap is the Always on Display, which when you get used to in a smartphone, you simply don’t want to stare at an empty lockscreen display again. It makes checking time, date and notification alerts a breeze without having to hold or touch the phone.

Wide angle camera

  • Dual-camera with two 1/3″ 13MP sensors
  • Wide-angle, 71 degree angle of view, F1.8, 3-axis OIS
  • Super-wide-angle, 125 degree angle of view, F2.4
  • Laser-assisted autofocus
  • 4K video with stereo sound recording
  • 5MP front camera with 100 degree angle of view, F2.2
  • Dual-LED flash
While the LG G6 takes neat pictures as expected on a flagship smartphone, the real deal breaker in this phone is the wide angle lens. There is a wide angle shift in the camera mode and it can quickly toggle between normal and wide angle mode for some amazing shots. Landscapes come alive and brilliant on wide angle and is a delight to capture on it.

Square Camera

Taking full advantage of the 18:9 aspect ration which can split the screen into two equal halves, LG has introduced an additional square camera app. It offers some interesting modes baked into it.

Snap Shot

A basic square camera addition. The top square is used as the viewfinder and when you take a phone, a preview appears in the bottom square. If you don’t like the shot, there is a quick delete button or you can pull the social button and share it easily just like that right from the pane.

Match Shot

Match Shot takes two shots in quick succession of each other, and presents them side-by-side. These shots can both be from the same camera, or one from the front and the other from the rear, or be video rather than stills.

Guide Shot

It helps you to take photo withe the same composition as another. A tad confusing to start with but gets good when you get the hang of it.

Grid Shot

This is the mode I really liked and had fun with. It is made perfect for Instagram. The lower square is split into four, and you can shoot four pictures and fill the four square and then the app stitches them into a single square pictures with four tiles that perfectly matches the Instagram square. So these seven features makes the LG G6 a great Smartphone to work with. What you think of these features? What is your most favourite of the list? Do let us know.]]>
