Letv Le 1s pre-orders nets 11 million units worth $1.91 billion in a week

Last week on October 27th at an event in China,  LeTv launched the Le 1s smartphone along with Le Super TV. Soon after the launch, the company started taking pre-orders and today they announced a record interest for the Le 1s Smartphone. In the 7 day period, the company has made over US$ 2 billion (12.1 billion Yuan / US$1.91 billion) from the booking amount of over 11 million units pre-booked. And it also managed to secure booking amount for 1128 units of Le uMax120 Super TV, the world’s largest Smart TV. The booking amount for the TV amouts to more than 500 million Yuan (US$79 million) The numbers sounds too hard to believe but this is what LeTv has provided us with. It is more impressive considering the Letv entered the mobile phone business only this April, though it was into the TV business for some three years now. Though a new entrant in the mobile segment, LeTv sold about 587,000 units in September and quickly cornered a 5.8% market share.

Le 1s Smartphone specifications:

The Smartphone boasts a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. The Le 1s is powered by 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage but no microSD card slot. On the photography department, the Le 1s packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The Le 1s runs Android 5.0 with it’s propitiatory EU15.5 overlaid.  Notable features includes fingerprint sensor and quick charging, a mere five minutes of charging can give a 3.5 hours of talk-time.  It measures 151.10 x 74.20 x 7.50 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 169.00 grams.
