Truvision 32-inch non-smart TV TW32 63 Review

Not everyone needs a smart TV , my mother just sticks to her cable TV channels and never had once attempted any Smart TV functionality our TV offers, if I have to buy her a separate TV for her room, I would only buy a non-Smart TV that fits her usage. Like her, there are many who would want a plain old school television. What I have here is one such non-Smart tv from Truvision for review and let’s see how it performs for its price. Its a very affordable television which you can buy for around Rs 12,000 (around 172 US$) in offline stores in India. Truvision is an European brand and they have now made strong inroads into Indian retail segment with pan India presence. Truvision TW32 63 Box contents:

  • The standard TV
  • Remote
  • batteries for remote
  • Manuals
  • TV legs
  • basic wall mount clamps
  • screws
This particular model of Truvision has a fullHD resolution on its LED panel, which is a good bargain considering most TVs offer HD ready panels in this price range. It has a dynamic contrast ratio of 3,00,000:1. The bezels are not very thick  around the panel. The build quality is sturdy, though the choice of plastic is bit poor but no complaints considering the price. There are also physical buttons (power on/off, volume buttons, channel buttons, source buttons and menu buttons)  to control the TV in case you misplaced the remote or battery dies off in it. Stacked vertically are a headphone jack, two USB 2.0 ports and video audio inputs. At the bottom there are two HDMI ports, , mini AV out, VGA port, PC audio and RF-IN as well as ports to connect your speakers. The remote is a standard affair. Navigation is easy and you can fiddle around with the picture mode and sound mode settings.

Key features of Truvision TW32 63 TV

USB TO USB COPY FUNCTION:

There is a unique USB to USB copy function in the TV. If you are watching a video or picture from a USB pendrive and you want to make a copy of it to another USB pendrive, you can do it right from the TV interface. It works neat and you don’t need a PC for transfer. You can also transfer any filers this way.

PC support:

Since it has a VGA port, you can convert the TV into a computer monitor. If you have a security cameras installed, you can use the TV as a monitor.

Performance of Truvision TW32 63 TV

I can’t get critical over a TV that costs around Rs 12,000. Nevertheless, the display panel is decent enough. Though the blacks are not very deep, the display does not disappoint. The sound quality can be stated as strictly average. It has weak bass but sound is loud though.

Verdict:

Truvision TW32 63 does justice to its price it retails. Its a decent TV with good amount of ports and features thrown in for a standard TV. If you want a slightly better performance in terms of display and audio quality, you should be ready to spend a few thousands more, for what it is billed, this one does not disappoint.]]>
