The W8 is a small speaker with a distinctive barrel look. The outer cover is translucent acrylic in nature. At 350 grams it’s not heavy either and you can sneak it in your small bag while travelling or on hand. The bottom has an array of controls. The power button, which clicked once lights up the speaker for a flash and a slight long press powers on. A light to control the intensity, volume buttons, Bluetooth connectivity button which also combines as play/pause button. There is also a loop in case you want to hook the speaker for easy carrying. On the side of the speaker, there is an Aux-in to connect directly to your audio source, TF card reader to play your music from microSD card, mics and micro USB port for charging. The top has the speaker grille. It houses underneath the 2” full range neodymium driver. Once powered on, the speaker keeps changing colours and looks visually good. The colours are soft and the colour transition is pleasant and makes for a good visually pleasing speaker on your desk. [gallery link="file" size="medium" ids="14261,14260,14259"] Coming to the performance, W8 is a tiny speaker with a 4 watts power output. The W8 is low on bass but that is expected of a budget small speaker. The colour patterns are visually pleasing and that compliments the audio experience. It works well as a small desktop speaker for casual listening. The call quality is decently good too. With an 80Hz – 20KHz frequency response some of the low notes go unnoticed. Verdict: If you are looking for a small table top Bluetooth speaker for personal casual use, the F&W W8 works as an entry-level offering. The colours definitely add coolness to the experience.]]>
