Xiaomi India teased yesterday of something of a good catch coming up and going by the teaser, I expected a price drop on Redmi Note and it is. The Indian mobile market in the 10K price segment is witnessing fierce competition with OEM’s cramping as much hardware might they can at an aggressive pricing. Few days back, Lenovo dropped a bomb by bringing 108op, 4G device priced at Rs 9,999. Redmi Note 4G’s new price is apparently a reaction to the intense, fiery competition.
To refresh on the specifications,it features a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage with expandable microSD option. It runs on MIUI 6. The camera set up includes a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera and a 3,100mAh battery juices up the device. Connectivity options include single-SIM card slot, LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G was launched in December last year and it supports both the 4G bands: FDD-LTE (Band 3 – 1800 MHz) and TDD-LTE (Band 40 – 2300 MHz).
The new pricing of Rs 7,999 is already reflecting on the company website, Flipkart, Amazon India, Snapdeal, The Mobile Stores and Airtel stores from today.
