Vivo V5 with 20MP selfie camera with moonlight flash launched in India

The battle for better selfies gets interesting with the newly launched Vivo V5 with its 20 megapixel front camera. Yes, you read it right, its ‘twenty megapixel’ loaded selfie camera and not stopping at that it also gets a LED flash light what the Chinese company calls it as ‘moonlight camera’ for the softer glow on your face at low light conditions for the perfect selfie. If that doesn’t sounds interesting, you are not into the selfie craze which is rarer these days.

Touted as the world’s first Smartphone with a 20MP front camera, the Vivo V5 is priced at Rs 17,980 and it will be up for pre-orders between November 16 and 25 and goes on sale in retail stores from November 26 in major cities and town across India.

Vivo V5 comes with a 5.5-inch display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, the screen also has a 2.5D curved glass. The body is unibody metallic and measures 7.6mm in thickness and weighs 154 grams. The finger print sensor is housed at the front with the home button combing as the sensor and the company says it can unlock in 0.2 seconds.

Talking about other specifications, the V5 runs on Mediatek 6750 chipset with a 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. While the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the base, Vivo uses their FunTouch 2.6 UI overlaid upon it. The UI has the iOS feel to it and has no app drawer.

The phone supports dual-SIM with one micro-SIM and another nano-SIM and also can hold upto 128GB of external storage. It supports 4G and VoLTE.  A 3000mAh battery is included inside.

Coming back to the main focus of the V5, the front camera. It uses a very capable Sony IMX376, 1/2.78” – behind a bright f/2.0 aperture with a fixed focus. The front camera like the rear camera can take 1080p videos as well. The 13MP rear camera comes with phase detection auto focus.
