Lenovo unveiled today its latest flagship model, Vibe Z phablet in India at an media event held at Bangalore. The phone is the second offering in the Vibe series. The phone was showcased first in China in mid-November, last year and made an international debut at CES last month.
Being a blue-blooded premier offering, the phone comes with strong hardware specs with a Qualcomm processor replacing the Mediatek processor it used in many other models including the Vibe X, the first product in its premium Vibe series. So we are talking about a faster and energy efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz clubbed with a 2GB of RAM and mated to a Adreno 330 GPU and running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.
The display features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a 1080 x 1920 pixels adding up a healthy 401 ppi density. The display is strengthened by a has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device looks pretty sleek with a thickness of 7.9mm and weighs 147 grams.
Lenovo Vibe Z boasts of good camera capabilities with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera which will make for a great selfie shots. Apart from the strong pixel-count, the phone also boasts good optics and promises good low-light capabilities thanks to a BSI sensor and dual LED flash and a large f/1.8 aperture lens. The front camera also boasts of 84-degree wide viewing angle for better wide coverage of self-shots. The camera is also supported and enhanced by loads of software additions and features.
A 3000 mAh Li-Polymer non-removable battery should keep the device running easily for a day. The smartphone also supports USB OTG for easy access of data from pendrives while on the go or even charge other smartphones.
The Vibe Z is priced at Rs 35,999 and will hit the stores beginning March 1.
