HTC introduces a new member to the Desire series tpday which is basically a slightly stripped down version of the original Desire 816 launched six months ago.
While the original 816 sported a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, the Desire 816G comes with a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor. The RAM is also trimmed down from 1.5GB to 1GB. So is the price while the former launched at Rs 24,999, the HTC Desire 816G couple of thousands cheaper at Rs 18,990.
Apart from the difference in the chipset and RAM, the rest of the specs are same. So we have the same shell with a 5.5-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixel resolution), 8 GB of internal storage with an option to expand it via microSD Card and the camera specs complete with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5MP front shooter. The battery too remain the same at 2,600mAh.
The dual-SIM device runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat but layered with HTC Sense UI. The connectivity options include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS / AGPS, NFC.
The device will hit the shelves from October.
