Gionee Elife S5.5 the world’s slimmest Android phone launched in India for Rs 22,999

It is very difficult to keep a tab on the slimmest phone what with one Chinese company after another bettering it. At 5.5mm, Gionee Elife S5.5 is super slim and holds the title now of being the slimmest smart block.

Gionee launched the Elife S5.5 in India today at Goa after making a global appearance last month. It’s not just the slim profile but the device comes in an aluminum frame and with an impressive hardware specs. Priced at Rs 22,999, the slim beauty is priced aggressively and might trigger quiet an interest at this price level and with the growing marketing might of Gionee India.

The smartphone comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a fullHD resolution (1080 x 1920 pixels) with corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and stashing 441 pixels per inch. The firepower includes a 1.7 GHz MediaTek Octo-core chipset, with Mali 450-MP4 GPU,  2GB LPDDR3 RAM2 and 16GB internal storage. There is no expandable memory slot included. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean but masked by the company’s own Amigo interface.

The camera specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include: 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG, amongst others. It also includes a non-removable 2300mAh battery.
