The entry-level Android smartphones are breaching the Features phone’s price barrier and now Jivi, a New Delhi based company has cracked the sub-2K price level and announced Jivi JSP20 the ‘extremely affordable’ and cheapest Android Smartphone in the country. At such a rock bottom price its natural there will be a compromise on the specifications though we have seen companies like Intex and Celkon squeezing in Android KitKat on Smartphones priced below Rs. 3,ooo but Jivi JSP20 contents with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS. Yes, someone has brought it back from the cold storage. JSP 20 features a 3.5-inch display sporting a 320×480 pixel resolution, 1GHz processor and a piecemeal of 128MB of RAM and 256MB internal storage but there is an option for external memory card. There is a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash and a 1350mAh battery. Ironically, the phone for masses retails exclusively on e-commerce site, Amazon.in. Though the specs are not exciting, the product is aimed at pulling the feature phone users to the smartphone bandwagon and to give them a small glimpse of the Android world out there.
