Sandisk has brought its next-generation portable SSD lineup to India. The SANDISK Portable SSD starts at Rs. 18,999 for 1TB, while the faster SANDISK Extreme Portable SSD starts at Rs. 29,599 for 1TB, and both are available across leading e-commerce sites and retail stores.
The two drives target different buyers. The SANDISK Extreme Portable SSD is aimed at photographers, videographers and professionals, with read speeds of up to 2,000MB/s, enough, the company says, to transfer around 1,000 high-resolution photos in under a minute. It carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, drop protection up to three metres, and password protection with 256-bit AES hardware encryption. It comes in 500GB, 1TB, 2TB and 4TB capacities with a five-year limited warranty.
The standard SANDISK Portable SSD is meant for everyday backups and file storage. It reads at up to 1,000MB/s, offers projected drop protection of up to two metres, and comes in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities with a three-year limited warranty.
“India’s consumers are creating, capturing and managing more digital content than ever, increasing the need for fast and reliable portable storage,” said Tareq Husseini, Senior Director, Sales, IMEA, Sandisk.
