Gionee, a leading Chinese mobile maker now making its presence in India has rolled out an affordable smartphone, Gionee P2. Priced at Rs. 6,499, the dual-SIM smartphone looks to have the right mix of specs and features to gain traction in the segment. P2 has a 4 inch display and is powered by Mtek 6572 1.3 GHz Dual Core processor and running on Android jelly bean 4.2 version. On the camera side, there is a 5 mega pixel rear camera and a VGA front facing one. The smartphone has a modest 4 GB internal memory and we are surprised by press statement which talks about expandable memory up to 4 GB. Seriously 4 GB?! I assume it is a typo error, we are awaiting a reply from Gionee on this. A 1700 mAh battery should be good enough for this device and is available in white and black. ]]>
