District, the going-out platform from Eternal, and Airtel on Tuesday announced a collaboration that renames District’s 16-acre open-air concert venue in Bengaluru to Airtel Arena, with Airtel investing in dedicated digital infrastructure for the venue.
The venue, formerly known as Terraform Arena, can accommodate over 17,000 fans and has already hosted concerts and tours by Arijit Singh, Anirudh Ravichander and Bryan Adams, according to the companies. District took over the venue last year.
Under the arrangement, District will continue to shape the on-ground experience for fans, artists and organisers, while Airtel invests in high-capacity digital infrastructure aimed at reliable connectivity even during peak demand. The companies said the infrastructure will complement the venue’s existing mobile pre-order and cashless top-up functions, with enhancements expected to roll out ahead of the upcoming event season.
“India has fewer than ten purpose-built venues that can host more than 10,000 people. The live entertainment industry has outgrown that base,” Rahul Ganjoo, CEO of District, said, calling the shortfall the single biggest constraint on what fans in India get to experience. He said the industry needs more ecosystem brands “putting capital behind closing the gap.”
“Great experiences are built on great connectivity,” said Suchita Salwan, Chief Customer Officer at Airtel, adding that the partnership reflects Airtel’s focus on solving everyday customer needs at large-scale live events.
The venue was built from the ground up by Go-Golf Entertainment LLP and features a modular main stage built to international production standards, a dedicated artist village and backstage area, an 80-foot box office, and parking for 4,500 cars and 1,000 two-wheelers.
