Sony India has announced the launch of new G Master brand of interchangeable lens and showcased three E-mount fullf rame lenses. The lens announced are a 24-70mm constant F2.8 standard zoom lens, an 85mm F1.4 prime lens and a 70-200mm constant F2.8 telephoto zoom lens. The first lens in the new E-mount full-frame series is the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM standard zoom lens (model SEL2470GM) which is ideal for portrait, travel and event photography. It is dust and moisture resistant and includes two new matching filters. It uses three aspherical elements including a newly developed XA (extreme aspherical) element that reduces aberration. An ED (Extra-low-Dispersion) glass element and Super ED glass help to keep chromatic aberration to a minimum, while maximising resolution and bokeh, without any unnatural coloration. It has a direct drive SSM (Super Sonic Motor) focusing system and a quiet motor. It’s priced at Rs 1,54,990.
The new FE 85mm F1.4GM prime lens is targeted for portrait clicks and offers brilliant bokeh. It has a circular aperture with 11 blade and also uses SSM motor system for auto-focusing. The prime lens will retail for Rs 1,29,990. The third one is FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS telephoto zoom lens aimed at the wildlife, sports and event photographers. It is also dust and moisture resistance with an additional fluorine coating on the front.A focus hold button and focal range limiter finds mention in this lens. It makes use of floating focusing system with a minimum focusing distance of just 0.96m. Again, this motor also uses SSM and includes dual linear motors. The pricing and availability is not revealed but is expected to be soon. In addition to the lenses, Sony also announced two new compact 1.4x and 2x teleconverters – SEL14TC and SEL20TC.]]>
