Inkle Acquires Finally’s Bookkeeping Division in All-Cash Deal

Inkle has acquired the bookkeeping division of US financial operations platform Finally in an all-cash asset purchase. The deal expands the accounting firm’s reach beyond venture-backed startups to smaller businesses such as clinics, contractors, restaurants and professional services firms. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The company announced the acquisition on October 28. Inkle is headquartered in San Francisco and develops its accounting software and AI tools with a team in Bengaluru.

About 100 Finally employees are joining Inkle across locations in the Americas, according to the company’s announcement. Finally’s bookkeeping customers will continue working with the same teams, now on Inkle’s platform.

Inkle combines a US CPA-led accounting practice with its own software, including the Inkle Books general ledger. It also serves customers using other accounting systems, rather than requiring every business to move its books to one platform.

The acquisition gives Inkle wider delivery coverage across the Americas and Asia. The company says it has reached profitability after raising $1.5 million in pre-seed funding. These are company-reported financial claims, not independently audited figures provided with the announcement.

The transaction covers Finally’s bookkeeping customers, team and assets, not an acquisition of Finally as a whole. For existing bookkeeping customers, the immediate promise is continuity of the team handling their accounts while the service moves onto Inkle’s platform.
