Vivo? who? For starters Vivo is yet another Chinese Smartphone maker who is making a beeline to Indian mobile industry. Today the company set its foot on Indian mobile industry with the launch of the world’s slimmest smartphone, the Vivo X5Max flaunting a 4.75mm size zero waistline.
Introduced last week in China, Vivo X5Max snatches the slimmest smartphone title from Oppo R5 which measures 4.85mm, the company claims that X5Max’s slim profile is partly due to the screen which is just 1.36mm.
The dual-SIM Vivo X5 Max sports a 5.5″ Super AMOLED display of 1080p resolution and powered by a Snapdragon 615 chipset octa-core processor with an 1.7 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 and 1.0 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 64-bit CPU and 2GB of RAM. There is also an 16GB of internal storage.
On the camera front, inspite of the slim profile the X5Max includes a 13MP camera with a Sony IMX214 sensor at the back along with an LED flash anda 5MP front shooter for selfies. Impressive right? Not just that, it also squeezes in a 3.5mm audio jack which Oppo R5 failed to manage in its slim profile. A 2000mAh battery for a 5.5″ device sounds underwhelming atleast on paper and the company has mentioned no world on the talktime and standyby either.
The X5Max runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat with its own in-house Funtouch OS 2.0 UI layered on top. As mentioned earlier this is a dual-SIM Smartphone which uses one micro-SIM and another nano-SIM. The nanoSIM holder when not in use can also be used as a microSD container. It also supports 4G on both the SIMs.
The company also stated that all its phones will be available on physical stores and has already set up 20 distributors in as many states in India.
