The rumor mill went about talking for quiet long and Nokia took its own sweet time to unveil its first ever tablet. Finally today at the Nokia World in Abu Dhabi, Nokia took the wraps off their Lumia-syled tablet in colorful avatar and with impressive specs.
Looking like a bigger version of Lumia smartphones, the 10.1-inch display on Lumia 2520 features a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and runs on Windows RT 8.1. The company boasts its display gives an boasts enhanced outdoor readability even in direct sunlight. The tablet is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2GB RAM. The tablet also comes with 32GB inbuilt storage which can be further expandable up to an additional 32GB with microSD card. It also packs a 8000mAh battery.
Lumia 2520 also sports a 6.7-megapixel rear camera complete with Carl Zeiss optics and an f/1.9 aperture, same as found on the Nokia Lumia 720. On the front you get a 2 megapixel camera.
The good thing about Windows OS on tablet, by default it comes with desktop office apps and outlook app that adds productivity to the fun element. When we have the full-office app on board, what might come handy to most users is the Nokia's keyboard complete with trackpad as well as additional 5 hours battery backup for the tablet. Additionally, there is also two USB ports.
On the apps side, the tablet also features Nokia HERE map with offline mode, Nokia Storyteller, a Nokia developed app that organizes images into stories on an interactive HERE map by date and place and Nokia Video Director, an app that offers the ability to edit recorded videos as well as content from Nokia Lumia smartphones.
