WhatsApp associates one number to one device and so even if you have a dual-SIM you can associate only one number to the official WhatsApp app. But if you use Lenovo K3 Note, you are in for a surprise. You can operate two numbers on WhatsApp on this Smartphone, thanks to the SecureZone feature that comes with the phone.
The SecureZone allows to run two accounts of any app to be run on the single device – one on the open zone and the other on the SecureZone, a setting that needs to be configured and set to run. If you add a WhatsApp on the secure zone, it allows you to associate another number here, in addition to the WhatsApp you might have in the open zone associated to another number.
Isn’t that cool? No rooting of the device, no third party untrusted app needed here. It’s simple and easy to setup. Do see our video on how to run two WhatsApp on the Lenovo K3 Note

Now you don't have to check your mobile now and then for your WhatsApp notifications when you are busy working on your computer. WhatsApp has finally rolled out on your desktop and here is a step-by-step guide to bring the messaging app to your browser.
The new service is available for Android, BlackBerry 10, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and Nokia S60 users of WhatsApp. "Due to Apple platform limitations", the desktop messaging option is not available to users who access the app on Apple devices.
Before get going with the set up process make sure the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your phone. Currently, the WhatsApp on desktop works only on Chrome browser. So if you don't have Chrome yet, download and install it on your desktop.

Step 1: Open https://web.whatsapp.com/ in Google Chrome.
Step 2: You will see a QR code on the web page, that you need to scan with your phone to log in.
Step 3: So how to scan the code? Go to WhatsApp and look for WhatsApp Web. The option is found in Menu of WhatsApp. If you are a BlackBerry 10 user, a swipe down from top of the app screen takes you to “WhatsApp Web”. Tap on it and scan the QR code opened on your computer.
Step 4: WhatsApp will sync messages between the phone and browser. WhatsApp for Web is simply an extension of your phone. So the messages are stored only on your phone and the web browser simply mirros the content.
Step 5: You can now start a new chat right from your computer. Your phone needs to stay connected to the Internet for WhatsApp to work on your desktop.
WhatsApp for Web also allows users to turn on desktop notifications right from their browser so that even when your browser is minimised you get alerts for any new messages. One possible downside with WhatsApp for Web is that it allows only one Web session at a time.

There are registered users and then there are active users, needless to say active users are more relevant. WhatsApp. the most popular now Facebook owned, messaging app has crossed 600 million active users. Jan Koum, the founder of the app who became an overnight tech sensation by selling the app to Facebook for an insanely huge $19 billion took to Twitter to announce the new milestone.

WhatsApp is clearly the undisputed leader now followed by Tencent’s WeChat with 438 million active users, and Viber with 100 million active users. It must be noted most of the rival messaging apps stick to mentioning their registered users and refrain from letting know the active users.
The emerging markers are adding vigorously to the WhatsApp numbers with India playing an important role. In April, the active users numbers hover around 40 million in India and four months down, it has shot up to 60 millions. It’s exciting days for WhatsApp to the dismay of telecom operators who are loosing out on their SMS services.

Facebook send the tech world in a frenzy by announcing that it would be acquiring WhatsApp for an insanely huge deal of $19 billion. The deal includes $4 billion in cash, $12 billion in Facebook shares and an additional $3 billion in vesting restricted stock units for the WhatsApp team over the next four years.
WhatsApp, the cross-platform messaging service at the time of acquisition has 450 million users and is growing by 1 million users every day. If it shows the same growth curve, it would reach the magical 1 billion user base, much faster than the time Facebook took to reach.
Mobile Messaging apps have been hot of late with larger tech companies roving over them, WhatsApp is undoubtedly the clear leader and company with a largest brand recollection in this domain. It is most active in the emerging market and the deal will leverage Facebook in reaching out to the emerging markets where the next big mobile explosion is awaiting in terms of market reach.
Interesting Jan Koum, the founder and Acton, the co-founders applied for a job at Facebook in 2007 and were rejected. They could thank Facebook a (19) billion times now for that.
