Western Digital is a name synonymous with storage solutions offering a bouquet of data storage technology and products. Today the company expanded their solid state drives product lineup in India by bringing in the high-performance, super-fast, cutting edge WD Black SN750 NVMe SSD targeted at the hardcore gaming tribe. Alongside, they have also introduced the WD Blue SN500 NVMe SSD for high performance seeking mainstream users.
What is NVMe SSD?
SATA SSD is passé and NVMe is what you should be looking at if you want a blazing fast PC experience. It provides faster access and consumes less power.
NVM Express, also known as NVMe, is an interface specification optimized for NAND flash and next-generation solid-state storage technologies. The Express denotes the fact that the data travels over the PCI Express (PCIe) interface on your computer’s motherboard.

The WD Black SN750 NVMe is built on Western Digital’s 3D NAND technology and also comes with integrated aluminium heatsink to help maintain speed and optimum temperature, eventually keeping the drive below the thermal throttling point regardless of the workload. The new-age SSDs are targeted at gamers and for users who work on high demanding tasks like video editing.
The WD SN750 is available in different capacities starting at 250GB and going up to 2TB. The heatsink model is available only on 500GB and above drives. The sequential read rate goes up to a whopping 3,400 MB/s and sequential writes up to 2,900 MB/s.
