Garmin opens its experiential brand store in Bengaluru; Third in the Country

Garmin, the renowned Smart wearables company and navigation technology pioneer has launched its stand-alone experiential brand store in the heart of Bangalore to provide a premium user experience to its customers. Spread over 500 sq ft, the store displays its various product offering across the segment. Supported by well-trained staff, the store promises an immersive product experience and helps to pick the right wearable for you. The store also has a service centre attached.

The store is located at No 84, Brigade Road, Ashok Nagar, Bangalore and will be open all seven days from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Missy Yang, Head of SouthEast Asia Marketing, Sky Chen, Regional Director of SE Asia and India, Yeshudas Pillai, Country Head Garmin India along with business partners and several other officials were present from Garmin India. The Bangalore store is the third of its kind in the country, the other two are present in Pune and Delhi-NCR. Garmin has set the target of setting up at least seven more by the end of 2023, noted Yeshudas Pillai, Country Head, Garmin India. The company also sells devices through other partner channels which include Helio, Just in Time, Croma and several other multiband stores.

The store will have on display and sale their entire Indian portfolio of devices ranging from Fitness, Outdoor, Wellness including products like the Fenix 7 Series, Instinct 2 Solar series, Forerunner 922/255 and Venu SQ2 and many more.

The brand experts at the store will be able to guide the customers about the device’s features and help them buy the right wearable for their daily needs.

Talking about the expansion, Mr. Sky Chen, Regional Director of Garmin Southeast Asia & India said, “Indian smart wearable industry is growing rapidly and holds a lot of opportunity in serving the customers. Bengaluru is an important market for us and with this new experiential brand store we want to empower customers and showcase them the performance of global technology from the house of Garmin. Asus brings the ZenWatch 2 to India; comes in two sizes

Both the devices are a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 400 processor with a 512MB RAM and 4 GB memory and runs on Asus ZEN UI. The devices are backed by a 300mAh and 400mAh battery respectively and Asus claims a 2 day usage time and 3 days standby time. The Zen UI on the wearable makes the wearable communicate with your Smartphone and you can control the phone’s camera, mute incoming calls via the watch. There is also a FindMyPhone option in case you misplaced the phone. A business helper app helps you access mails, call log and calendar right from your wrist. You can also access phone settings like WiFi, volume and hotspot from the watch. Like most Smarwatches, the Asus ZenWatch 2 also has a fitness and health app to measure and track your fitness stats. A ZenWatch Manager app offers various watch face and also the customize the homescreen and there is also a FaceDesigner to customize your own unique watch face. The Zenwatch dial is housed in a stainless-steel casing, a curved display and a crown button giving it a traditional watch styling and the display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Sony SmartBand Talk (SWR30) Wearables Launched in India at Rs 12,990

Alongside SmartWatch 3, Sony also launched the SmartBand Talk wearables in India today and is officially listed on the company’s India site at Rs 12,990. Both the devices were first announced at IFA last September and the highlight of the Smartbank Talk is its 1.4-inch e-paper display which is always-on and curved in design. It offers a 320 x 320 pixel resolution and due to the e-paper display it also consumes low power and offers high visibility and clarity. The band is basically an upgrade to the SmartBand (SWR10). Other technicals and features include a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor, 2MB of internal flash memory, a 70mAh battery, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and microUSB support. It is compatible with devices running on Android 4.4 Kitkat and above. Like the SmartWatch, the SmartBand Talk is also water and dust resistant with a IP68 certification. The Band offers fitness and health activity track and logs alongside notifications and time. The built-in microphone and speakers allows for voice calling when paired with the smartphone. Sony claims a 3 days if battery back-up and 1 hour of talk time. It will be available only in black color as of now in India. ]]>

Sony has launched in India, its next generation wearable device, SmartWatch 3 which was first revealed in September at IFA. The Sony SmartWatch 3 (SWR50) has been officially listed at Rs. 19,990 and will be available in Black. though there is no word on its availability. The upgraded SmartWatch 3 us based on Google’s Android Wear platform, a marked turn from their earlier watches and thus fully soaked in Android ecosystem. The SmartWatch 3 has a 1.6-inch 320×320 pixel LCD display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 512MB RAM. Also featured are 4GB of internal storage, 420mAh battery and connectivity options like NFC and Bluetooth 4.0. The wearable device also has a built-in microphone, accelerometer, compass, Gyro and GPS sensor. Like their flagship Smartphone devices, the smartwatch too is IP68 certified making it resistant to water and dust.
