7 Reasons to buy OnePlus TV Q1

1. Its way smarter than a projector – The OnePlus TV provides a premium experience that is seamless and clutter-free. The OnePlus TV interface based on the Android TV provides the most holistic smart TV experience. This also enables quick connectivity with your android device and offers a ton of great features like the Google Assistant, Built-in Chromecast, Play Store and YouTube for your smart home. Whereas on a projector, you’d need three other devices to just get the video going.
2. Acoustic Audio System – The OnePlus Q1 Pro comes with a sliding soundbar which compliments the picture quality with immersive acoustic experience. The 8-speaker stereo system on the OnePlus TV finds the perfect balance between excellent speakers and stunning exterior design. The woofer speakers deliver a wide range of deep bass and powerful beats, while the tweeters
and full-range speakers provide the best ‘surround’ effect to make sound rich and consistent. Essentially, making an entire audio setup which you would require with the projector, completely redundant.
3. The QLED display is no match for the projector – With the OnePlus TV, one can be definite of the dynamic viewing experience each time. The Synchronously optimized algorithm and hardware, the Gamma Colour Magic on the OnePlus TV bring you the highest level of performance and phenomenal image quality, making family movie time a much better experience.
4. No more spending hours tuning the projector to get the video quality right – Ever felt like the lighting and the contrast always ruins the entire viewing experience on the projector. Well, with the OnePlus TV, you can be sure of the vivid details in the pictures, bright colours and optimal contrasts that make the dark even darker and the bright even brighter. The Dolby VisionTM on the OnePlus TV provides clarity in both the dark and the bright areas in every frame with clearer and more vibrant colours.
5. Sound that drown the neighbors and their crackers – The Dolby Atmos on the OnePlus TV creates the sound to excite your senses and inspire your emotions, which will eventually deliver a holistic entertainment experience.
6. No more asking the family IT person to operate the laptop or video player – To avoid the hassle of looking for the remote or having a dedicated resource to just lower volume or adjust
brightness, we bring to you the OnePlus connect. It helps you connect your OnePlus device to the TV and double it as the remote. This enables the user to a gamut of features that make the
user experience seamless. The OnePlus TypeSync makes sure your smartphone is your smart remote and you have higher efficiency with mobile keyboard and voice input. The Quick App
Switch offers you the experience of smooth navigation. You can also capture screenshots of your TV, using the OnePlus connect app.
7. OxygenPlay – The OnePlus TV ensures that you have a variety of content to browse through and that you are also updated with the latest stuff. The OnePlus TV comes with deep integration with international and local content providers including YouTube, Prime Video, Eros Now, Hungama, Jio Cinema, Zee 5. The Oxygen Video application covers local features and international content, exclusive content on shelves, high-quality recommendation, convenient content search (voice search + search aggregation), to provide users with a wonderful, burden less viewing experience.

Owning a LED TV has become more affordable now, with many brands wooing the budget-conscious buyers with aggressive pricing. Daiwa is a new Indian brand who has taken the online route to sell their affordable range of Smart and non-smart TVs in India via Amazon India. What we are have today for review is the Daiwa D3D1 LED TV which is a non-smart TV priced at Rs 12,290.

Daiwa? What?

When the TV landed at home for review, whoever came home shot the question without fail. Daiwa? who? which company is it? . Frankly I have not heard about them either earlier but digging into their websites this is what I they claims to be. Daiwa is a sub-brand of an OEM/ODM VideoTex, a company which launched TV in their brand name VideoTex back in 1984. Since them they been manufacturing televisions for other brands. In 2011 they relaunched their VideoTex LED TVs in offline markets and Daiwa is their new brand line up that compromises LED televisions and home theater systems. That’s the small history about them.

The Range

In Amazon India, they have both non-smart TVs and Smart TVs listed in various price range and screen size. The one am going to talk about is their most affordable non-smart TV with a screen size of 32-inch and boasting of a toughened glass.

Unboxing

Out of the box you get

LED TV Unit,

Table Stand,

Remote,

Handset Battery “AAA”,

User Manual,

Warranty Card,

Wall Mount

Design

The design is nothing spectacular but what you expect from a normal LED TV. It weighs 6 Kgs and measures 83.9 x 50 x 14 cm. The build quality is decent for the price it offers and the design is non-nonsense standard lines you expect on a budget LED TV.
On the right side of the TV (when you face the screen) you have a physical buttons for power on/off , menu, source channels and volume, just in case you misplaced your remote under the pillow.

Stacked on the left side are two USB port, Aux-in , L1, R1 and V1 for video inputs

At the bottom there is three HDMI port, AV out, PC port and PC audio-in port.

Display

The 80 centimeter panel has a HD resolution (1366×768) with an image contrast ratio of 4000000:1. It has a 250 nits brightness and response time of 8ms.
The display has a good 178 degree viewing angle on either sides and the display is quiet decent , far better than what I frankly expected on this budget model. The colors are decently rich and the picture quality good too.
The settings menu allows you to change the aspect ratio of the display via the remote and it also includes a cinematic zoom in case you want the content to be full screen without the black borders. Though frankly, like me most of us would just settle for the auto display settings but then it is there if you want to fiddle around with the aspect ratios.

Performance

As mentioned above, the HD panel of the Daiwa D32D1 is a decent one. The colors are considerably richer than most other models of the budget TVs I have seen in this range. We can put it as a good display at this price. Being a non-Smart TV there is nothing much of add-ons here, there is a bluetooth connectivity option and you can connect your phone via bluetooth and listen on the TV speaker but why would you want to do it? Well, at least I won’t be keeping the TV on just to listen to songs.
There are many picture modes, sound profiles to shift. The picture mode settings allows to control the contrast, brightness. color and sharpness and also color temperature.
The settings also has a lock mode with a hotel mode. So this model suits commercial establishment and the hotel mode has settings where you can control the max volume and many other relevant controls. A sleeper can be set to put the machine on auto sleep on a scheduled time and there is also a clock with a sleeper time to manually be set. The sound quality of the Daiwa TV is pretty good.
The essentials are covered with two USB ports, 3 HDMI ports. I connected my Amazon Firestick and it worked charmingly well. Since it has a PC connectivity, you can turn the TV into one big display monitor. Ideally, Daiwa D32D1 can make a strong pitch in the commercial uses like in display TVs to run advertisement, as a big monitor for security cameras.
The TV also supports wire range of audio and video formats, so you can plug in your media files on pen drive and directly watch it on the big screen.

Verdict:

Priced at Rs 12,290 the Daiwa TV D32D1 is quiet a compelling buy for those on a tight shoestring budget.
