I have been keeping tab on Rapoo, the Chinese peripheral maker for a while now and I like the fact that they believe in making only wireless peripherals. They make keyboards, mouse, speakers and heaphones but no tails attached. In fact, I have done couple of reviews of their products including H6080 and H3070 headphones. The H6020 which we are reviewing today shares the design language with H3070, they are very identical except for the fact that while H6020 is a Bluetooth headset, the H3070 works on radio wireless frequency. Keep it side by side, you won’t find any difference visually.
I would prefer H6020 over H3070 for the sheer fact that all Smartphones and tablets come with Bluetooth connectivity and we don’t need a bulky transmitter that is essential for the H3070 to pair with the devices. Anyways, let’s keep the H3060 aside now and talk about the Rapoo H6020 we got at our review desk today, the one I been listening to songs for over a week now.
To be fair and square, Rapoo H6020 is not the best looking headset around, although the perception varies, it definitely doesn’t grab immediate attention for hot looks. It is feather-light and you might even think it will be fragile but it is not.

The H6020 is a supra-aural headphone and the pads are small in size and press lightly on the ears. The micro-fiber material padding of the earcup is not the best you would come across and feels barely there on the ears, which is good if you don’t like anything tightly cupping on your ears and doesn’t sweat but lets in more ambient sound.
The left ear cup has all the controls nested around the sides. The power button which is also the Bluetooth search button is clumsy to use. The wheel like control which also doubles as volume button if you roll it upward or downward has to be awkwardly pressed with your finger nail to power on/off the device.
Around the edges alongside the power controls, there is a microphone and a flap that can opened to reveal the charging port.

The head band is slender. It looks more like a coated wire. Though it would look like the band is not expandable, it does comes with an extension side arms neatly tucked into the ear cup.
The ear muffs can be turned facing down which comes good when you keep the headphone hanging flat on your chest or when you are packing it in your travel bag.
A green indicator constantly flashes when the headset is paired. It also glows red when the headset is charging or when you press the power it off.

Like most Bluetooth devices, it is no-brainer to pair the H6020 too with the Smartphones or tablets. As I mentioned earlier, the power on /off and Bluetooth search functionality process is a design fail.
The H6020 works on Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR wireless transmission protocol and ideally should support up to 10 meter range. Between the walls of your rooms and other hindrances, expect a 8 meters working range.
The audio experience is not disappointing. Though it doesn’t give over-the-top bass experience, it finds a middle path between a decent bass and balances the low and mid frequency notes. You can crank up nicely till the recommended audio levels. The clarity is good and the Rapoo H6020 is ideal for casual music listening. As a headphone, it does its job pretty well. It switches automatically between phone call and music. The call quality is decent. It works as a good set for your Skype and phone calls.
Rapoo says the H6020 can deliver up to 12 hours of music and 15 hours on call. In my music play, it did deliver almost to the statement. It takes around 3 hours for full charge.
The slender head band actually looks funny. It doesn’t give the solid look and feel of most other headsets in market. On other hand, when you are casually listening to music, the light weight feels pretty good and non-obtrusive.

Rapoo H6020 has an MRP of around Rs 3,500 but it is available for almost half the price at many e-commerce platforms and at the discounted price, the H6020 makes a better sense. It is purely for casual music experience and even the design is not for serious outing. If you need a light-weight headphone for casual music listening and to handle the phone/skype calls, Rapoo H6020 can come into the picture.]]>

I prefer wireless gadgets and I like my workspace wire-free as much as possible. Wireless gadgets/peripherals also makes life easier while traveling. Rapoo, the Chinese peripheral makers believe in making only wireless accessories and we have today Rapoo M10 wireless optical mouse at our review desk.
The M10 is a basic wireless optical mouse and has a decent form factor and a size that is neither small nor large. It works on wireless 2.4GHz frequency and can be paired to laptops, PC, tablets via a nano receiver that plugs into the USB port of the computing device.

The box contents is pretty basic containing a manual sheet, a nano receiver and the mouse itself.

TheM10 is available in fashionable color choices though the one we got at our review desk is neutral black.

The mouse sports a decent ergonomic factor and a flowing design highlighted by a glossy black trim along the edges and on top. I pretty liked the matte finish that does not gather dust and finger prints.

The scroll wheel is quiet ‘plasticky’ and feels a bit cheap. Its a two-directional wheel but while working it does its job as expected.

On the rear there is a power on/off button and then there is a slot to secure the nano receive when in use. A little below that there is an optical tracker that does not emit any light when in use.

The nano receiver being a tiny piece there are chance that one can misplace it. So the holder is quiet handy to secure it when not in use and traveling.

A single AA battery powers the mouse and the company claims a battery life of 9 months.

Frankly there is nothing much to talk about the M10 wireless mouse. It performs the action it is supposed to do diligently. The wireless transmission is quiet good. The ergonomics are pretty neat.
Priced at MRP of Rs 889, you won’t be disappointed if you intend to pick a basic wireless optical mouse. The nano receiver slot at the rear side gives it the extra brownie points.]]>

Bluetooth headsets are increasingly getting popular for the sole reason it is cable free. It also has certain setbacks like connectivity issues, range and the audio reproduction tends to suffer due to wireless connectivity plus they are pricey when compared to the wired headsets. The good news is the companies are pushing hard to give a better wireless audio experience and the prices are going down and comes in various price range.
Rapoo is one company that specializes in wireless peripherals with an array of products like keyboards, mouse and audio products for mobile, tablets and desktops. Rapoo H6080 is one of their bluetooth headset with a unique foldable design and we are going to talk about it in this review.

Rapoo H6080 falls under Supra-aural headset category were we have the pads sitting against the ear rather than over the ear like what a full-sized headphones offer.
The headset has a unique design with a foldable mode. It is very easy to carry around while travelling. The headband length can be adjusted and can be conveniently folded. The ear cup is attached to the main headband with a movable metal piece and it can be slided in and out for length adjustment to fit the head-sizes. There is also a metal trim adorning the ear cans. Barring these metal trims, the headset uses plastics but H6080 does look good and sturdy. The plastic elements doesn’t look cheap in any scale. The head band also has the Rapoo name marked in self tone and I like when the brands tom toms themselves subdued. On the bottom side of the top of the head band is a soft cushioning, good for long hours of usage while it rests on head.

Lined by soft microfibre and cushioning, the ear cups is soft on ears for long usage. The style of padding affords the Rapoo H6080 decent noise isolation.

On a closer observation you will note that the ear cups are not attached directly to the metal stalk but uses what looks like shock absorbers or hinges. It provides small movement of the ear cups for better flexibility when it rests on ears.
All the controls are on the left ear can. There is a power on off button that also doubles as volume rocker. Adjacent to it is a USB port which can be used to recharge the built-in battery and also used to connect to devices via cable mode.

Rapoo has also included a carry case out of the box. The headset on folded mode snuggles neatly inside the case and good while packing on the move.

Performance

When we talk about wireless bluetooth headsets. First comes the pairing with devices. Rapoo H6080 uses Bluetooth 4.o technology. Pairing it with devices using old bluetooth technology is difficult or better put not practical. Even it had problem pairing with certain latest devices. While it paired easily with Galaxy S3, the very latest Lenovo K910L could not be connected. So I would advice the readers to make sure their device are compatible with your device before buying it.
Even pairing it could have been a simpler affair. We need to press the power button deep for switching on/off. When it is powered you get a green light. When the bluetooth is searching initially, the LED light flickers. Once you manage to pull it through with the pairing, it works as charm.
You can use the headset both for listening pleasure and for attending phone calls. Talking about the audio reproduction, the speakers features COM-Ti membrane vibrating technology which promises a clear treble and mellow sound. In reality, the music that comes out of H6080 is at the best average. Let’s not forget, Rapoo H6080 at its price level is not a premium offering. For pure music aficionados, there are headsets on a steep price. For the price bracket, on a first hear for an average user, it does seem to give decent output for casual hearing. But soon you will note the treble is not the strongest point and the over all audio reproduction is bit synthetic and not well rounded. Though the bass is mellowed, few of the high notes suffers and is muddied.
While on a call, it works very well. There was no problem in the incoming voice while the person on the other end also vouched for the voice clarity. You can just say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ to answer or reject a call.

Final note

Rapoo H6080’s strongest point is the design and easy portability due to its foldable design. It offers an average audio reproduction but with an option for USB connectivity through cable which can make it pair with various devices even without bluetooth functionality and a good calling functionality turning out to be its brownie points, it is bogged down by wireless connectivity issues with some of the devices. Currently, Rapoo H6080 is available for around 4.5K Indian Rupees in many e-commerce sites. On this price range, you get a good wired headset but if Bluetooth is what you want, take a look at it if you can’t stretch the budget beyond 5K but make sure your device is compatible with the headset.]]>

Wireless headphones are quiet convenient to carry around as well as to keep the desk wire-free. Leading the wireless headphone categories are Bluetooth enabled wireless headsets. While the Bluetooth headsets are popular, they are also other wireless headsets that work on other modes. Rapoo H3070 works on 2.4GHz radio frequency and it can work on audio devices that does not support bluetooth and also can be hooked on your regular gadgets like laptops, mobile and tablets. Rapoo’s forte is wireless gadgets and their wireless keyboards and mouse are well made stuffs. Can they recreate the same wireless magic in the headset category? We have an answer here with Rapoo H3070.
As usual like most Rapoo products, the packaging is clean and neat. The product is well displayed through the see-through sheet and it comes in a sleek packaging.

The head band is thin like a wire with a transparent plastic piping. It sits light on the head. It is also easy to wipe clean. The band length is adjustable by sliding in and out.
I am usually picky when it comes to on-ear headsets. (I prefer over-the-ears larger cans or in-ear models) Rapoo H3070’s has a pair of on-ear or supra-aural type of ear-pads that press lightly against the ears. The 2-inch diameter cans looks rather small and it just manages to completely cover the ears.

The left can has the controls and ports that include a volume rocker, a mini-USB port and a microphone which allows the handset to make voice chats.

The volume rocker also doubles as a power button when pressed. You can recharge the internal lithium battery using the micro-USB port as well as to use the headset as a wired headset when connected to the USB port.

The cushions are covered by soft grey colored polymer fabric. It looks very flimsy and at times I fear my nails would tear it off by mistake. Inside the earpads is nested a 30mm drivers.

The design of H3070 is anything but ordinary. It does not blow you away at first sight. On a scale of design and build quality, Rapoo H3070 does not score high but on a practical usage, the headset is quit comfortable on ears as well as long hours of use.
The transmitter is bit over-sized to hook on to a mobile devices. It has a 3 mm jack, microphone, USB port and a power on/off button. The USB port is used to recharge the transmitter.

Hook the 3mm audio jack to your mobile, laptop or other audio sources and the transmitter is ready to pass on the radio frequency to transmit the audio once you power it on. The transmitter gives a faint green LED light when it is powered on.

Performance

Pairing Rapoo H3070 is a breeze. Unlike bluetooth headsets you don’t have to go through the list of connected devices and pair them. Just plug the transmitter to the audio jack and power it on, the set up is complete.
The headset delivers an average audio reproduction. Sound reproduction of lower notes is significantly skewed toward the muddier end of the spectrum while the bass disappoints. At the price range that H3070 is positioned, I expect a better audio reproduction. The listening quality is quiet good even when the volume is cranked up high without much discomfiture to ears.
In wireless mode, the company claims a 8 meter range but the headset suffers from interference if you walk around walls. The interference are noticeably less within 4 meters.
We mentioned that the headset has a built-in microphone but to record your voice you need to connect the transmitter to the USB port. Once connected it shows an additional red light. Now you can record via microphone. The recorded voice quality was very feeble.
Finally Rapoo H3070 can be used as a headphone to answer or place phone calls hands-free. The call quality was slightly muffed but decent enough if not great. The person at the other end said they could hear me fairly well, although a keen listener can detect that the call is supplied through a headset.

Light weight

comfortable to use

Back to back we are having a Rapoo wireless peripherals review. In our previous review we covered Rapoo 7800p wireless mouse that works on 5GHz frequency and we had good words to talk about the wireless rodent.
In this review, we have Rapoo 9020 combo, a generic wireless combination of keyboard and mouse that works on 2.4GHz wireless connection.
The 9020 combo comes in a sleek packaging and the box includes:

The keyboard

mouse

2.4 GHz nano USB receiver

a documentation

2 AAA alkaline batteries

2 AA alkaline batteries

Lets talk about the keyboard first. Rapoo 9020 keyboard strikes a familiar chord and the design DNA is very similar to the Rapoo E6500 keyboard we reviewed sometimes back.

Featuring a very sleek and ultra thin profile, the small and compact 9020 keyboard has a 288mm x 110mm x 5.8mm dimension. The keyboard uses a scissor key structure. Due to the structural design, you have the keys closely placed and also requires less force to tap.The rear features a steel base plate which not just adds to the premium value but also adds the desired weight to the keyboard and keeps it sturdy.
The battery compartment and logic board is fused to the steel plate giving it a wedge shape which also give the slight elevation for ease of typing. The rear packs a two AAA alkaline batteries to power up the wireless device. There is also a power on/off button to increase the battery life when not in use.
The function keys makes the 9020 keyboard media friendly by giving quick access to Home, Play/Pause, Fast Forward, Mute, Decrease Volume, Increase Volume etc. The other standard keys one expect in a keyboard finds their respective places too.
Pairing the combo is straightforward and is a plug and play affair. Plug the nano receive to the USB port and the keyboard and the mouse comes alive.

[gallery link="file" ids="5585,5583,5584"]
There is nothing much to talk about the included mouse in the 9020 combo. Not a full blown sized mouse, its compact and measures 62mm x 98mm. I am not a big fan of compact mouses, so I found the 7800p mouse which we previously reviewed better. But the 9020 mouse goes with the small nature of the keyboard. So it compliments well the included keyboard.
You have to open the top compartment of the mouse to fit in the two AA batteries. The mouse has an invisible tracking engine and has a 1000 DPI which gives a good balance of accuracy and movement.

Compact and sturdy keyboard with a base steel plate

Rapoo, the Chinese wireless peripheral maker is quiet aggressive in Indian market releasing products in regular gap and building it's portfolio of wireless accessories.
We have been diligently following the brand in our site with their stories and reviews. We received Rapoo 7800p wireless mouse for review and let's take you around this tailless mouse.
Rapoo 7800p like many other wireless accessories from the company works on 5Ghz wireless band. If you wonder what is the advantage of this feature, the answer is simple. Theoretically it gives better connectivity. Since most other devices eats up the 2.4 GHz band, they won't be interfere on the 7800p's wireless band connection. Simply put, it is a separate lane on the highway for easy commuting.
The package is in typical Rapoo color combination and showing very clearly the product within.

Rapoo 7800p has shades of black around the body and has a mix of per-dominant glossy finish with matte side panels. Personally I prefer matte finish for my mouse but it’s a matter of individual preference. On a practical note the glossy finish can end up dirty easily but on a positive side, it is also easy to clean.
Physically, the 7800p wireless laser mouse has a very good ergonomics, aptly contoured for the palm and fingers to effortlessly and naturally snuggle into it. It’s almost 124.6mm long, 78.1mm wide in dimension.

The layout of the mouse is conventional, with left- and right-click buttons as well as a four way scroll wheel that can also be used as a middle button. A little above the scroll wheel is a DPI button to adjust the sensitivity of the mouse on-the-fly, it toggles between 800 and 1600 dpi. A lower dpi gives a better accuracy while the higher setting fastens the movement.

To the side of the left click there is a zoom-in and zoom-out control. A little below towards the side panel is the forward and back button that can be accessed by the thumb. The list of controls is pretty exhaustive and comes handy in various practical usage.

Peel the battery cover to fit in two AAA batteries. The package says the batteries last for 12 months and there is an indicator light on the mouse to let you know if they need to be replaced.

Setting up the mouse is pretty easy and no need for configuring anything. All you have to do is plug in the 5G USB dongle and switch it on.
