If you thought Samsung would make the first Smartphone with the next generation, Snapdragon 820, you got it wrong. The surprise front runner candidate is LeTv, who is making lots of noise these days with its foray into Smartphones. At CES 2016, Qualcomm announced that LetTv's upcoming Le Max Pro would be the first phone to feature the chipset.
Qualcomm CEO Steven Mollenkopf showcased the Le Max Pro powered by the 820 and shared few more details about the device. It offers SenseID fingerprint security and multi-gigabit sharing between devices taking advantage of the new silicone inside.
At the moment, there is not much credible info about the Le Max Pro, we will keep it covered when more news trickle in. Mollenlopf also stated that more than 80 products are being tested with the Snapdragon 820. So most likely this year's many of the flagship devices will come equipped with the 820. The latest from Qualcomm uses a custom-designed 2.2GHz quad-core Kryo processor, a better Adreno 530 GPU, Quick Charge 3.0, tri-band Wi-Fi, LTE Cat.12 connectivity.
Along with the Snapdragon 820, Qualcomm also announced the automative version of chipset to be called Snapdragon 820Am. It will be able to process heavy amounts of day as it would be monitoring the driver's movements via sensors and cameras, support 4K displays and provide real-time navigation and assistance and more automobile specific processes. So be ready to see which processor your next vehicle comes with in the near future.
