Power bank is one of their fast selling key product in their scheme of things and they have many models under their kitty in various power capacity. What I got here is Quantum QHM 10000 as the name suggests a 10,000mAh battery pack. Let’s see how it fares. The packing is modest and what strikes is the Make in India print on it. The QHM 10000 has a unique design with a stitched pattern adorning it. It looks kind of a wallet design. The faux leather material has got a good texture to it. In a world of metal or plastic body power banks that looks plain boring, the stitched design is refreshing take. There are 4 LED indicators to give you an idea of battery left in the pack. There is also an LED flash light in case you need one. The QHM 10000 has three out ports, so you can charge three devices at the same time. It supports 10 watts input and 10 watts output. So you get a fairly good charging speed.

Charging time:

The QHM 10000 takes close to 5 hours to fully charge with an adapter supporting 10 watts.

Efficiency:

The Quantum QHM 10000 delivers a 77% efficiency which puts it on a good level. I would be happy with anything above 75% and QHM 10000 is quiet satisfactory when it comes to performance. It delivers up to 7700mAh power output, so you can do a simple calculation to figure how many times your phone can be charged. If your phone has 3500mAh battery , it can charge twice and a little more remaining.]]>

The first powerbank I purchased had 1800mAh battery and that was a big pack back then but even the Smartphone those days had less battery and lasted longer since the processing demands were less. The smartphone these days packs in bigger internal batteries and also crunch more power resources, so the powerbanks too have evolved into bigger capacity and 10,000mAh is a minimum people look at when buying a new powerbank. I have over two dozen power packs lying in my office and I keep testing new ones in the market, what we are going to feature today is Quantum QHM 10KP 10000mAh powerbank review that arrived recently for me to try out. The power bank is from Quantum Hi-Tech a New Delhi headquartered company who are into consumer electronics and IT hardware peripherals since 1990s. What we are reviewing today is not the only powerbank in their portfolio. Most powerbank comes with a four dotted LED indicator that gives us an idea of the percentage remaining in the pack. Quantum QHM QKP has a LED panel displaying the percentage in numbers. The design is very ergonomic and the QHM 10KP weighs around 200 grams. Its compact and can fit into a pocket. The corners have smooth curves for easy handling. The front face has an interesting patterned design for an interesting visual appeal. There are two USB ports and a micro USB port for charging. Right side has a button, pressing it would reveal the percentage of battery remaining on the display panel. Everything boils down to performance. Total capacity: 10,000mAh Charging time: 4 hours 20 minutes ( for full charge of the pack) Available discharge: 7600mAh Conversion rate: 76% Input power: 5V/2A Output power: 5V/2A Any powerbank won’t give out its full capacity in case you are not aware of. Anything above 75% is decent and I would rate 80% and more exceptionally well which very few powerbank manage to. In my tests, the Quantum 10KP had a 76% conversion rate.

Verdict:

Quantum QHM 10KP 10000mAh powerbank is available for around Rs 1090 in e-commerce websites and this price it has a good look, ergonomic form factor and a decent power conversion rate plus it also has a digital percentage display panel.]]>

AsiaPower Powerbank AP-5200A review

Earlier we reviewed AP-2200A portable charger and here we have it’s fat cousin, AsiaPower Powerbank AP-5200A boasting a bigger 5200 mAh capacity and a dual output that can charge two devices at the same time. AP-5200 has a perfect monolith square form factor with a curved edges. The box contains the portable powerbank, micro USB cable and a user manual. You also get a 2 mm charging pin. The power input port is flanked by two output port of On the top there is a battery indicator button. Pressing it will start the charging the connected device. The LED indicator shows the battery capacity status. Two devices can be simultaneously connected to AP-5200A. So if you have a tablet and mobile that needs battery juice, you can connect both at the same time. The 5200 mAh lithium ion battery has a 5V/1A input with a dual output values of 1 ampere and 2.1 ampere. A typical full recharge of the battery takes up to 4 hours. For our test, we had put our brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 device with a battery capacity of 2600 mAh for charge onto the 2.1 ampere output and Galaxy S3 with a battery capacity of 2100 mAh onto the 1 A output port. Here is our test analysis. In two hours SGS4 was fully charged and in another 2o minutes the Powerbank battery status showed 1% and SGS3 stood at 40% charge. The combined total output from the Powerbank AP-5200A stands at around 3500 mAh which is 70% of the indicated capacity of 5200 mAh. It should be noted that in our earlier review of AsiaPower Powerbank AP-22ooA also we were able to get only 70% of the mentioned battery capacity.

TR Verdict on Powerbank AP-5200A

AsiaPower AP-5200A is priced at Rs. 2299/- Though the company claims 5200 mAh battery capacity, our tests shows a full drain output of 3500 mAh which is around 70% of the claimed output. A reasonable price plus a dual output keeps it a decent value for money at this offered price range. A square solid design with curved edges is easy to toss around your carry bags.]]>
