At EVM, our products are designed to align with the ever-evolving lifestyle of our customers. In these times, our team is working diligently to provide the best possible product to our customers.

The first powerbank I purchased had 1800mAh battery and that was a big pack back then but even the Smartphone those days had less battery and lasted longer since the processing demands were less. The smartphone these days packs in bigger internal batteries and also crunch more power resources, so the powerbanks too have evolved into bigger capacity and 10,000mAh is a minimum people look at when buying a new powerbank.
I have over two dozen power packs lying in my office and I keep testing new ones in the market, what we are going to feature today is Quantum QHM 10KP 10000mAh powerbank review that arrived recently for me to try out. The power bank is from Quantum Hi-Tech a New Delhi headquartered company who are into consumer electronics and IT hardware peripherals since 1990s. What we are reviewing today is not the only powerbank in their portfolio.
Most powerbank comes with a four dotted LED indicator that gives us an idea of the percentage remaining in the pack. Quantum QHM QKP has a LED panel displaying the percentage in numbers.
The design is very ergonomic and the QHM 10KP weighs around 200 grams. Its compact and can fit into a pocket. The corners have smooth curves for easy handling. The front face has an interesting patterned design for an interesting visual appeal.
There are two USB ports and a micro USB port for charging.

Right side has a button, pressing it would reveal the percentage of battery remaining on the display panel.

Everything boils down to performance.
Total capacity: 10,000mAh
Charging time: 4 hours 20 minutes ( for full charge of the pack)
Available discharge: 7600mAh
Conversion rate: 76%
Input power: 5V/2A
Output power: 5V/2A
Any powerbank won’t give out its full capacity in case you are not aware of. Anything above 75% is decent and I would rate 80% and more exceptionally well which very few powerbank manage to. In my tests, the Quantum 10KP had a 76% conversion rate.

Verdict:

Quantum QHM 10KP 10000mAh powerbank is available for around Rs 1090 in e-commerce websites and this price it has a good look, ergonomic form factor and a decent power conversion rate plus it also has a digital percentage display panel.]]>

Power banks or portable chargers are in plenty but most incorporate a rather bland and boring design. OnePlus’s emergency charger breaks the monotony with its refreshing design. The 1000mAh battery pack is a style statement to compliment your Smartphone especially if you own a OnePlus.
The talking point and the deal clincher for OnePlus power bank is the design. It’s beautifully designed, slim and lightweight. It’s very obvious the OnePlus team has put its heart and effort in making the pack stylish, distinguishable in the similar line of their Smartphones. It’s no-brainer from where the aesthetic cue has been arrived, the OnePlus dna is all evident.
.
.

The Power bank is available in two colors – Sandstone black and Silk White, I have the white unit for the review. Both the power banks use the similar material that has been used on their Smartphone, so the Sandstone matte finish is very similar to the OnePlus version’s case and same goes with the body of the Silk white. The body is polycarbonate unlike the ones’ from Xiaomi, Honor but it still has a premium look to it.
Weighing 222 grams, the OnePlus feels lighter on hand and though it is a bit longer it feels sleeker and lighter thanks to its smart designing.
Unlike the ‘soap-box’ type design that most portable chargers use, the OnePlus has an unique wedge-like design with smooth, rounded corners and tangos well with the Smartphone especially if you own an OnePlus. There is also a metal rim around the edges to accentuate the design and visual language.

It comes with two full-size USB and one microUSB ports. You can charge two devices at the same time. There are four battery indicator LEDs on the side. There are no buttons. The indicators turn blue when getting charged or charging another device.

So since there is no button whatsoever how to figure out how much battery juice is left in the pack? Simple. Just shake it and the LED’s light up to indicate. Neat and cool addition.

This is a 10,000 mAh battery and that takes a good 5 and half hours plus to charge fully. Though I would not recommend a overnight charging unless you sleep for less than 5 hours, since over-charging might erode the life of any powerbanks in the longer run.

Charging is automatic and instantaneous as you plug in the device. The device comes with a 5W input and two 5W outputs. The 2A output means, faster charging. Though do keep in mind, if you are charging two devices at the same time, the charge gets distributed and each devices gets charged at 1A.
During my usage, the OnePlus power bank gave a little mroe than 80% efficiency or I could strain out 8,500mAh out of the pack , which is good. Anything above 80% is good and OnePlus is good at it.
OnePlus says they have safety features to prevent overcharging and overheating. There is no pass-through charging but then at the price of Rs 1,399 its not fair to expect that either.
One gripe I had with the OnePlus power bank, I am not sure if it has automatic intelligent stop switch. When I tested with my Mi4 and LG G4 and when the devices were fully charged, the Power bank kept charging and it didn’t stop and thereby draining the powerbank’s battery till I physically removed the cable. Not sure, if it works with OnePlus smartphone.
To conclude, if am looking for a 10,000mah battery pack and if I have OnePlus stacked alongside some of the other power banks in market, I might pick the OnePlus why? Just for the beautiful design. It is one of the best looking Power-bank out there and why not own something that looks good too and perform well.]]>

When required the cable can be pulled out and then secured back when not in use. Though seemingly it looks to be tightly secured and fastened, whenever pulling the cable out, it looked delicate giving me a nagging feeling it might snap out of the hinges.

There is a indicator which glows red when the power bank is being charged. There is no extra cable with the box, so you need your device cable to charge the power bank.

The same indicator turns blue when the power bank is charging the device.

Didn’t I tell you it fits the wallet easily?

On the technical front, the Astrum PB25M1A powerbank has a input of DV 5V /1A and a output of DC 5V /1A. I would have preferred a 2A output which would have charged the device quicker.

Lack of battery level indicator

2A output would have been good.

Nevertheless, what makes Astrum Power bank a good buy is its pocketable nature. When am not carrying a bag, I can easily carry this power bank on my trouser / shirt pocket or my wallet without any bulges. For daily use as a emergency backup at the end of the day before you hit the home, Astrum Powerbank is a good buy and for more than a day travel, you should be investing on a mightier power bank.]]>

Sharing is caring. Well, atleast when you are with a group of friends or with family it doesn't hurt to share your 3G with them in case of need. While there are many portable 3G routers in the market, Mercury has launched MiFi 3G router and has packed a inbuilt powerbank, so it not just creates a wireless hotspot but also when in need it comes handy to charge your smartphone or tablet.

By inserting a 3G SIM card, a user can create an instant WiFi hotspot and it also supports connectivity through 3G dongle or LAN wire. Packed with a 3000 mAh battery, it makes a good combination of portable router and power bank on the move.
On the technical side, Mercury MiFi 3G router supports HSPA 3G broadband connections with up to 14.4Mbps download, 5.76Mbps upload speeds and 150mbps Wi-Fi transfer data.
Commenting on the product, Sushmita Das, Country Manager – India at Kobian Pte Ltd said We always try to design and build intelligent products which can be used for more than one purpose; one such device is the Mercury 3G mobile router with inbuilt power bank. It acts as a router in connecting close to 10 devices instantly to the internet and also acts as a power bank to the mobile device. We have plans to come up with more such devices in the coming future.”
