Launched in India for Rs. 42,500, Optimus G Pro features a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with full HD (1080 x 1920) resolution with a very healthy 400 pixels per inch.
The hardware internals are no laggards too with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, 2GB RAM. The internal storage include a 32 GB which can be enhanced to 64 GB with a microSD card.
A a 13-megapixel camera in the rear and a 2.1-megapixel camera in the front makes for the shooter which is comparable to the top rung handsets in the market. Notably the camera features a dual camera recording mode similar to what Samsung introduced in Galaxy S4. a 360 degree panorama mode also finds place.
Measuring 9.4 mm in thickness LG Optimus G Pro almost similar to HTC One but pales before Galaxy S4. A massive 3,140 mAh battery is assuring.
Running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and topped with LG’s own Optimus UI and features custom apps like multi-view windowed multitasking mode, a QTranslate app etc.

[dropcap]L[/dropcap]G Optimus G, the smartphones that has sold over 1 million devices in four markets that has seen it so far including US,US, Canada, Japan and South Korea finally arrived in India today. Optimus G released in November, 2012 is pitted against the seemingly unstoppable Samsung Galaxy S3.

The ace card of Optimus G of course is it’s 13 MP camera that dwarfs most rival’s camera specs. Though bigger MP does not guarantee a better imaging capabilities, LG has its numbers ahead in the shutter war at least on specs-sheet, at least till Sony unleashes its Xperia Z.
On the hardware front, LG Optimus G features a 4.7 inch True HD-IPS + display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels squeezing in 330 ppi. Cranking up inside is a 1.5 Ghz quad core Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. Add to that a 2GB RAM and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS, you are ready for App crunching and heavy gaming effortlessly.
As mentioned above, Optimus G boasts of a 13 MP camera at the rear with autofocus and LED flash and features like Geo-tagging, face detection, image stabilization. It also has a video shooting capabilities that can shoot 1080p @ 30fps and also has LED video light for effective video capture. The front shooter is a 1.3 MP camera for video calling and self shoots. Optimus G camera has exclusive features like SmartShutter that auto-detects movements and auto-adjust shutter speed for better blur-free images, CheeseShutter is an unique voice recognition feature that detects when you say ‘cheese’ and clicks pictures.
Optimus G has a 32 GB internal storage but cannot be expanded further. Connectivity features in the device include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0.
The body of Optimus G is sealed and sitting inside is a non-removable 2100 mAh battery with a standby of 335 hours and 15 hours talk time.
LG has also bundled in it’s own signature features like QuickSlide , which allows for multitasking, QuickTranslator for quick translation and other features like QuickMemo, ZoomIn (that allows for zooming in/out videos), Dual Screen Dual Play etc.
LG Optimus G is officially released in India with a price tag of Rs.34,500.

LG Optimus G was unveiled in November 2012 and since then in four months has sold over 1 million devices in US, Canada, Japan and South Korea put together. Optimus G is yet to hit Europe and other markets and it will be officially released in India on February 27.
The device is positioned against the hugely popular and probably the phone of the year Samsung Galaxy S3. With HTC floating it's HTC Butterfly and aiming to hit bulls-eye with its latest flagship model One and Sony betting high on its premium device Xperia Z, Nokia soaring high on Lumia 920, let's see how LG Optimus G battles it out?

LG Optimus G features a 4.7 inch True HD-IPS + LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 1280 x 768 pixel resolutions. It packs in a healthy 318 ppi pixel density. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5 Ghz quad-core Qualcomm MDM9615/APQ8064 processor mated to a Adreno 320 GPU and a 2 GB RAM. Quiet a good hardware specs inside that juice up heavy apps. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.
It has a 13 MP camera, though some markets could see a 8 MP variant at the rear with autofocus and LED flash and features like Geo-tagging, face detection, image stabilization. It also has a video shooting capabilities that can shoot 1080p @ 30fps and also has LED video light for effective video capture. The front shooter is a 1.3 MP camera for video calling and self shoots. Since most of the rival models are at 8 MP shooter specs, LG can boast of the 13 MP camera as one of its main highlight (but hey Sony is on its heels with its Xperia Z with its 13 MP shooter!)
