Oppo, the Chinese mobile maker has made its foray into the Indian smartphone market with the launch of its flagship device, Oppo N1. The talking point of the device is the rotating camera which the company claims is the first phone to come with. Though much before Oppo's entry into India, Gionee launched Elife E7 mini with a swivel camera last month.
The flagship device is priced at a steep price of Rs 39,999 for a new comer in Indian market and let's have a look at the tech specifications of Oppo N1 to see if it justifies the ambitious pricing.

Oppo N1 phablet was unveiled in September last year and it features a 5.9-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. A Snapdragon 600 chipset, featuring a quad-core Krait processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage finds place. The software is handled by company’s in-house Color OS baked from the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. Interestingly, the phone also supports CyanogenMod OS which is based on Android 4.3, though out-of-box in India the device comes with the Color OS. Oppo India’s office twitter handle mentions that there will be a limited edition that would run on CyanogenMod.

#update: OPPO will be selling a limited edition of their latest flagship device, the OPPO N1, which will ship with CyanogenMod.

Talking about the highlight of the device, the camera department. Oppo N1 comes with a 13-megapixel camera that can rotate up to 206 degrees, and can lock at any angle. The swivel camera features a dual-LED flash and since it is rotatable it eliminates the need for front-facing camera. The 13-megapixel camera also means the video-calling and selfies would be great.
Another interesting highlight of the Opp N1 is a small touch-sensitive area at the back, called O-Touch, that can perform a few limited functions with the help of gestures. If you are worried about accidental activation, you can always disable it through the settings.
Oppo also has introduced O-Click, an accessory to remotely control the phone for certain tasks by pairing it with Bluetooth.
The device weighs 213 grams and reads a dimension of 170.7×82.6x9mm. It has a 3,160mAh battery and will be available in white color. Connectivity options on the device include USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, NFC and 3G.
