If Moto G (3rd generation) is what you have in mind, then you should be seriously consider the Moto G Turbo edition. Why? The answer is simple. It is a Moto G3 but an improved variant. The Moto G Turbo Edition is priced at Rs 14,499 and will be an Flipkart exclusive in India and goes on sale midnight today.
The difference lies in the processor. The Turbo edition is equipped with Snapdragon 615, octo-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz replacing the Snapdragon 410 of the standard G3. While the battery remains the same at 2,470mAh, the Turbo gets a quick charging support. Also, the Tubro comes with a IP67 certification which means it is water and dust resistant while the G3 had only a nan-coating to wade off the spills.

In mobile industry, every successful models has a limited shelf life and they need an upgrade to match the growing technology, so we have the new Moto G with better specs and bigger display but cheaper than the original price of previous generation.
Motorola simply calls the new Moto G, Moto G. Business as usual, no adding numbers to differentiate. The old model is discontinued and replaced by the new specs but the name is the same. It is priced at Rs. 12,999 for the 16GB variant and will be available exclusively on Flipkart from midnight.
So what is new? The new 2014 Moto G’s display has grown by half inch and is now a 5-inch device with Gorilla Glass protection but the resolution is same at 1280×720 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (no 8GB variant this time around).
The camera specs has a boost with a 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front shooter. The 2070mAh battery remains the same and the device runs on Android Kitkat but undoubtedly it will get a prompt Android L update whenever Google outs it. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.
There are other minor changes like the speaker grille is not placed in the front and more importantly there is an expandable memory card slot, which was badly missed in the original device.

After weeks of speculations and leaks, Motorola has officially unveiled the Moto G smartphone at an event in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The device looks very similar to Moto X, announced back in August this year.
The Moto G has a 4.5-inch, 720p LCD TFT display with a pixel density of 329ppi, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8 or 16GB of storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,070mAh battery. Out of box it runs Android 4.3 but the company assures that the smartphone will be getting the latest release of Android 4.4 KitKat by January 2014. The software delivers a near true native Android experience, with very few tweaks.
The Google-owned company claims the battery can deliver up to 30 percent more talktime than the Apple iPhone 5s due to its deft software optimizations.
The Moto G features a removable curved back panel that it claims to offer better grip and handling and also showcased accessories including 'Shells' and 'Flip Shells' available in seven colour options, Grip Shells (in five colour options), and some music accessories like JBL wireless speakers for the device. It allows customers to dabble with colors by simply swapping new shells.
Moto G will be available in 8GB and 16GB variants but there is no options for expandable external memory slot. In US the handset will be available through the company’s website and the price of the no-contract, SIM unlocked 8GB is fixed at $179 while the 16GB variant can be picked for $199.
Motorola Moto G will be available in Brazil starting this week, and the smartphone will be released in Latin America, Europe, Canada and parts of Asia over the next few weeks. The company planning to make a comeback in India plans to out the Moto G in early-January.]]>
