The ex-fashion designer in me makes me like MisFit for its design-forward wearables. They make wearables a fashionable lifestyle accessory. Today at CES, Misfit announced a mew addition to their glamorous portfolio, Misfit Ray Fitness and Sleep monitor, the highlight of the design element is a distinct deconstructed and modular design.
The Ray flaunts a sleek form factor and clean lines and is only 12mm in diameter and 38mm long. The cylindrical body is aluminum build and true to the Misfit's design legacy can be worn on wrist or necklace teamed with Misfit-branded or custom accessories. The idea of the Misfit Ray is to compliment with other accessories like watches, bracelets and jewelry and be part of the fashionable accessory you wear.
Under the skin of the minimalist design of Ray, there is a 3-axis accelerometer to track activity and sleep. It also includes a vibration motor similar to the one the Misfit Shine 2 featured. And like other Misfit wearables, the surface also decks up a LED and in this case a single multi-color LED eye for various notifications. When a user is inactive for a long time, the device nudges to keep you moving a bit. It also shows text and call notifications and a silent alarm.
The Misfit wearables never require charging as they work on user-replaceable batteries that last up to 6 months, the Misfit Ray is also water resistant up to 50 meters. On the app side, the MisFit Ray syncs with Misfit Link. And when connected to the app, you can use the Misfit Ray to remote connect various other connected devices like Smart lights, tap the Ray to take a selfie and few other tasks.
“We designed Ray to be your most valuable accessory,” said Tim Golnik, Misfit’s VP of Product and Design. “Ray’s design distills the essential performance of our wearables and opens up a world of style possibilities.”
Misfit Ray is available in Rose Gold and Carbon Black and is now available for pre-order on misfit.com and will be available on stores worldwide in Spring 2016 and is priced at $99.99

Misfit Wearables takes a different approach in the wearables segment. They make wearing them a beautiful affair. Their fitness trackers are trendy and also available in fashionable accessories to team up with you wardrobe and flaunt it as lifestyle accessory.
Today the company announced the addition of two new stylish accessories and as I draft this post, my wife was drooling at the pictures of the latest collection. Not a user of fitness trackers otherwise, she says if it gets beautiful like this, she could change her mind.

BaubleBar is an online retail jeweller and MisFit has joined hands with them to come up with Helena Necklace and Helena Bracelet, giving a new reasons to wear the Misfit flash fitness and sleep monitor.
Both the Helena Necklace and Helena Bracelet features a locket, the design language of which is vintage-inspired yet contemporary. The oval-link chain are 32 inches in length for the necklace, 6 inches for the bracelet. The Flash fitness tracker is housed inside the lockets, always there but inside a beautiful shell. It monitors your sleep and activity levels, including calories burned, distance travelled, steps taken and sleep quality.
You also get an activity clasp or sport bracelet for everyday use of the tracker and the clip flash can be worn anywhere on you be it waist, wrist, sleeve, pocket, shoe or keychain. Unlike most other fitness trackers in the market, Misfit needs no charging since it uses a replaceable battery with a battery life of six months.
The BaubleBar Helena Necklace and Helena Bracelet for Misfit will be available exclusively at Target starting November 29 and both are priced at $69.99]]>

Misfit Wearables, the makers of the fashionable, fitness accessory with an almost 6-month battery backup has been around for a while now and has carved itself a unique space in the fitness and sleep tracker segment. The company founded in 2011 takes seriously the sense and sensibilities of an activity tracker and makes for a good lifestyle accessory. The second generation of the Misfit Shine packs some neat upgrades, that promises to enhance the functionality while retaining the original aesthetics.

While retaining the original Shine’s much acclaimed design and the aircraft-grade aluminum body, the new Shine manages to be thinner than its predecessor. Inspite tof the thin body, the Shine 2 still features a coin-cell battery that provides a 6-months battery life. And, you can also dive into the pool up to 50 meters with the Shine on like before.
For better accuracy and usability, the Shine 2 now comes with a 3-axis magnetometer along with the 3-axis accelerometer. The rounded screen now has better responsiveness and now syncs faster with the app. The triple tap functionality on the screen of the new Shine allows you talk to the phone to set it tasks like selfie from your phone and to change tracks. The Misfit Move, feature will encourage you to be active with a vibrational nudge, if you are sitting for quiet longer time. The other new additions include text and call notifications and a silent vibe alarms.
Adam Mack, Director of Mechanical Design, Misfit said We’ve packed a lot into Shine 2, adding more functionality into an even thinner form factor with the same battery life, ”
Measuring 8 mm in thickness and 3.3 mm at the edge, the Shine 2 comes in Rose Gold and Carbon Black, and is now available for purchase on misfit.com, and will be available in retail locations worldwide in November. In US, it comes a tag price of US$ 99.99
