To rival Samsung's "Its a phone? It’s a tablet? It’s Galaxy Note” – a cross device between phone and tablet that also proved to be a runaway success, LG has announced LG Optimus Vu.
Last week LG Mobile CEO Jong-seok Park stated

“With smartphones, we sometimes took a more functional approach to design… but we’re going back to our roots as a company focused on how our products fit into the lifestyle of our customers”

The new addition to LG mobile portfolio, Optimus Vu might be an outcome of the company’s new vision.
Unlike the Galaxy note, the Optimus Vu differs in the structural design ratio, its more like a mini ipad with a screen ratio of 4:3 rather than the 16:9 ratio the smartphone’s usually adhere to.

If you thought Galaxy Note is difficult to type with thumps, the 4:3 screen ratio of Optimus Vu would be practically impossible to be used single hand.
Comparison between LG Optimus Vu and Samsung Galaxy Note

While LG Optimus has a screen size of 5″, Samsung Galaxy Note is marginally bigger at 5.3″
LG’s dual core processor clocks 1.5 GHz where as Note’s dual-core processor clocks 1.4 GHz.
Optimus Vu is marginally thinner at 8.5 mm in comparison to Galaxy Note’s 9.65 mm
Weighing 168g Optimus Vu is slightly lighter than Galaxy Note’s 178 g
Optimus Vu’s 2080 mAh battery falls shorter to Note’s 2500 mAh
With 4G LTE in place LG scores brownie over Samsung’s Galaxy Note at markets that already have 4G in place.
Will Optimus Vu prove to be a rightful contender to challenge Galaxy Note, let’s see how market would react upon its roll out. We will keep you updated.]]>
