Lava announces super-affordable Flair series, launches Flair P1

To target mainly the first-time Smartphone users with a shoe-string budget, Lava today introduces Flair series with the launch of Lava Flair P1 in India. Priced at Rs 3,399, the Flair P1 might give a tough competition to the likes of Celkon and Intex who are very active in the sub-5K price segment. Talking about the specs, the Flair P1 has a 4-inch TFT screen with a W8VGA (480 x 800) display. A modest single-core 1GHz processor mated to Mali 400 GPU, 256MB of RAM and 2GB of internal storage finds place. The memory can be expaned via microSD card. There is a 2MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera.

The P1 runs on Android KitKat 4.4 and is back by a 1400mAh battery. the Lava claims the Flair P1 will offer up to 11 hours of talk time on 2G networks and up to 7 hours of talk time on 3G networks The connectivity options include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0. It will be available in two colors, black and white.

Lava Iris X8 launched, up against Redmi Note and Yu Yureka

Lava International Ltd. unveiled today a new member to its “Iris X” series priced at Rs 8,999 and pitted directly to face the fire power of Redmi Note and Yu Yureka. While it will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart from 9th Feb, it will also be available on offline stores across India.

The latest to join the ring of cut-throat competitive affordable big display smartphones running on quad-core processor is Lava Iris Alpha priced at Rs 6,550. Let’s quickly get into the specs list. It features a 5-inch display with a FWVGA (854 x 480) screen resolution. Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor mated with a 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, the phone runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat. The camera set up includes a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a modest VGA front shooter. A 2,200mAh battery is thrown in. Keep the battery juice overflowing with the newly launched Lava Iris Fuel 60, a new addition to the Fuel series of Lava, one of the top home-grown Indian mobile company. The highlight of the new smartphone is the 4000mAh battery which the company claims would give 32 hours of talktime on 2G . The Iris Fuel 60 is the second Smartphone in the series, the first one being the Iris 50. On the technical side, Lava says the phone uses a ‘solder-less’ technology where it uses connectors to connect each components with the PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) making it easy for the technicians to fix any faults as well as less chance of manufacturing defects. The dual-SIM Fuel 60 features a 5-inch display with a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, it is powered by a 1.3GHz Cortex A7 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with an microSD card support. The camera specs include 10-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front shooter. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and the company says it will rollout Lollipop update as well. Close on the heels of Celkon Win 400, the company’s first WP Smartphone, Lava announced its own first Smartphone, the Iris Win1 priced at Rs 4,999 pitting it directly against the Win 400. Lava Iris Win1 running on Windows Phone 8.1 OS will be available on December 2 and will be exclusively available on e-commerce portal, Flipkart. The Iris Win1 features a 4-inch with 800×480 pixel resolution and runs on the Snapdragon 200 chip with a quad-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. The battery is of a 1,950mAh kind and the Windows phone gets a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. Last week it was Sony Xperia C3 and if you don’t want to shell out Rs 23,390 for a selfie Smartphone, take this: Lava Iris X5 for less than half the price at Rs. 8,799 Lava has revealed couple of weeks back that they will launch their first selfie Smartphone and today they launched the 5-inch android Smartphone equipped with a 5-megapixel BSI front camera with auto focus, wide angle lens and an LED flash. At the back, it has an 8-megapixel primary camera with dual-LED flash and an Omni BSI sensor. The Iris X5 features a 5-inch HD display (1280×720 pixel resolution) and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. The Iris Pro comes with a 4.7-inch display made with OGS (One Glass Solution) technology and with1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Choosing better component makers for its premium series, the IPS display has been made by Sharp. The display is strengthened with Corning Glass protection. Additionally the device uses a CABC (Content Adaptive backlight control) screen brightness regulation technology to automatically control the screen display brightness. The company says it optimizes the battery life by 30%. The phone is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and coupled with 1GB of RAM and SGX544 GPU. In terms of storage, it features 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB using a microSD card. On the camera front a 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 3-megapixel front-facing camera finds place. A 2,000mAh battery is included, which the company claims is good enough for 4.5 hours of talktime and 400 hours on standby mode. The software features include flip to mute, lift to answer and call, video PIP, sound and shot, voice and face unlocking some of which has become a standard features these days in medium to premium smartphones. Iris Pro is available in black color with metallic silver color bezel and will be available from the third week of January.
