When Coast by Opera was launched exclusively for iPad, I was bowled over by its sheer minimalistic approach and bold attempt at re-imagining the traditional browser in an entirely new avatar.

Read: Coast by Opera Review

Now the Opera team behind this project has released a first update to the browser app adding few refreshing features. For music buffs. the update brings music app directly baked into the browser. Suppose you go to Soundclound webpage and to a particular music page, the browser automatically starts playing it. To add an extra visual impact, a small animation of graphic equalizer sits pretty on the website’s icon. Additionally, it allows to control music on the webpages from the iOS lockscreen.
Coast by Opera already allowed customization option for its homescreen by allowing the user to choose a picture from a website, taking it forward the new update give s the user option to choose your own pictures on the iPad.
The new update also improves the PDF document handling in Coast. The new update also has few minor updates under the hood to make the browser app more efficient.]]>

If you wondered how many iPads must have Apple sold so far? Apple’s Phil Schiller had the answer on stage at the company's media event at San Francisco today. 170 millions. Having neatly sold this phenomenal numbers in just over three years, Apple today unveiled its fourth generation iPad with a new moniker, iPad Air and the air got thinner and lighter than ever.
The new iPad Air is 28% lighter than the previous generation and is just around 1 pound now weighing 469 grams (WiFi only) and 478 gms for WiFi and cellular model. Sporting a svelte look, the iPad Air is only 7.5 mm in thickness and also boasts of a 43-percent thinner bezel.
As expected after the iPhone 5S launch, the 9.7 inch tablet is now powered by A7 chip along with an M7 motion chip along with 64-bit architecture making use of more than 1 billion transistors. It will also be backed with iOS7.
The 5-megapixel iSight camera is capable of shooting fullHD video, and the FaceTime camera on the front includes "larger pixels" and better backside-illuminated sensor. Also finding place is dual mic. The battery can run for 10 hours.
Available in silver/white and gray/black colors, the new iPad Air is priced at $499 for 16GB and $629 for 16GB and cellular connectivity and will begin shipping on November 1.
Apple has let go the finger-sensor for this generation, though it recently announced it with iPhone 5S.

It was only this march Apple launched the 'new' iPad or what now should be called the 3rd generation iPad but already its shown the door witht today's launch of 4th generation iPad.
The new reboot to the iPad brings in the lightning port instead of the old 30-pin connector, and a new A6X processor with twice the graphics performance of the outgoing iPad. With the iPhone 5 sporting the new lightning port, it was natural the rest of the Apple portfolio will follow suit.
Already twitter is abuzz with tweets equating iPad 4 upgrade to iPhone 3S upgrade.
I wonder what would those 'new' iPad buyers (iPad 3) folks be thinking of their now phased out model's short life!

With new processor on-board, the iPad 4 doubles the CPU and graphics performances along with a battery life of 10 hours. It also sports a 720p facetime camera. The base model with 16GB storage and WiFi is priced at $499 as before and the 16 GB cellular model comest at $629, similar to the outgoing model.

So as expectedly Apple announced iPad Mini today in a special event in San Jose that also saw the launch of 4th generation iPad, next generation iMac and 13" MacBook Pro with retina display along with few other announcements.
First thing first. Let's find out more about the new 'mini' in the tablet arena, the iPad Mini. Talking on stage, Phil Schiller explains that this "isn’t just a shrunken-down iPad, it’s an entirely new design.” So what is so new about the iPad Mini?
iPad mini sizez upto 7.9″ and has a 1024 x 768 resolution like in iPad 2. An all-new 7.2mm-thick aluminum shell ensures the mini is 53 percent lighter and 23 percent thinner than the newly announced 4th gen iPad. Finding the way inside is a dual-core Apple A5 processor, optional LTE, a 5-megapixel iSight camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, the new Lightning connector, and also promises a 10-hour battery life.
Ah, I can hear you but what would be the price of iPad Mini? The base model of iPad mini that would be a 16 GB, Wi-Fi only model is priced at $329. And for every $100 increment you would get the 32GB ($429) and 64GB ($529) variants. LTE models begins at $459 and again a $100 increment as you raise the storage space.
Apple expects to deliver a lethal blow to Amazon Kindle and Google Nexus 7 tablets with their new offering and primarily targets the device for those who basically love to indulge on web browsing and reading on their device.
Available in 2 colors – Black and White, iPad mini is available for pre-order from this Friday, October 26th, and Apple will ship it out on November 2nd.]]>
