Back in October Samsung announced that it had shipped 5 million Galaxy Note 3 after its launch in September 35. Today via their Korean Corporate blog they let know the world an impressive figure of 10 million shipment units in 3 months of its debut. Now to put this 10 million figure into some perspective, it took four months for the Note II and nine months for the first Note to hit the same milestone.
Samsung has been able to impress upon the users by building upon the S Pen functionality of the Galaxy Note 3 with impressive array of features as well as coming up with a quick shortcut plate, Air Command to access the multitude of features. Since the launch of original note, the Note series has also seen the display size been increased in subsequent releases alongside making it more ergonomic and reducing the bezel to keep it practical.
It also recently announced that it has sold more than 100 million Galaxy Smartphones this year. Great going Sammy. The first quarter of 2014 would see many new Galaxy releases and also the next generation Galaxy S5 about which various rumours has already started flying.]]>

Undoubtedly Galaxy Note 3 is the best Android smartphone money can buy today and amidst the galaxies of Samsung devices Galaxy Note series is my most preferred devices. Every new release in the series has upped the game in terms of hardware specs and features and S-Pen gave a new dimension to the once scorned stylus and credit goes to Samsung for reinventing it for mass consumption. Back in 2010 Steve Jobs mentioned “If you see a stylus, they blew it” but Samsung proved Steve wrong with Note series.
With Galaxy Note 3 at our review desk, we thought of doing few fun videos on some of the features that impressed us outright. We imagined few real life scenario where Galaxy Note 3 comes very useful. We will come up with a detailed review of various features in a series of posts on coming days. Till then, enjoy the videos.

Mr.Foodie is a happy man now with Galaxy Note 3

Here in this video we have touched upon features like Photo Note, S-Note, Scrap book etc. Photo Note feature allows to write quick note behind the photos you have snapped for quick reference like how you write down at the back of real photos. S-Note is a hallmark feature of Galaxy Note 3 which makes best use of S-Pen. You can write notes, import pictures and annotate them and also share the notes. Scrapbooker is a new app making its presence in Galaxy Note 3 where we can syndicate and organize interesting data you come across including web pages, videos, pictures, notes etc.

How Galaxy Note 3 Screen Write feature comes very handy

Galaxy Note 3 introduces a new quick access menu tool, Air Command which pops up the moment S-Pen is pulled out. At any point of time it can also be accessed by clicking the S-button on the S-Pen. The Air command gives easy access to Note 3’s S-Pen optimized features like Action memo, Scrap booker, Screen Write, S Finder and Pen Window.
In this video we have visualized a real life scenario where Screen Write features makes communication of thoughts very easy.

Mr. Executive starts using Galaxy Note 3

How many times you and me have come across situations where we scramble for a paper or writing pad to jot down the numbers or information while on a call? Many a times, right. Galaxy Note 3 simplifies life with its S-Pen as well as the newly introduced Action memo feature which recognizes and converts the memo ready for further action. For eg, if you have jotted down a phone number you can immediately add to contacts or call the number. Galaxy Note 3 does a fine job in handwriting recognition too.

Did you enjoy our video? We will come up with detailed review of Galaxy Note 3 features in subsequent posts. Stay ‘Noted’]]>

On September 4 in Berlin at its Unpacked event, Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 3 and two weeks later the new flagship note device hits the Indian market. Today at an event in Delhi, the Galaxy Note 3 was officially launched in India for Rs 49,900 and will be available from September 25 onwards.

A short recap on the specs. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is bigger, lighter, better and powerful compared to the last year’s Note 2. The Korean smartphone giant has added might to both the hardware and software front.

On the specs sheet, the Galaxy Note 3 flaunts a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display and the resolution is upped to 1920 x 1080, giving it 397 pixels per inch. It is powered by a 1.9GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa chipset shouldered by a impressive 3GB of RAM. Like in Galaxy S4, it fits in a 13 megapixel camera with Smart Stabilization and high CRI LED flash but Samsung has raised the bar again with the camera now capable of 4k video capture. A 1.9 megapixel camera finds its place in the front. Internal storage includes a neat 32GB RAM which can be expanded by further 64GB via microSD slot. Out of box, the device comes with the latest to date, Android Jelly Bean 4.3 and the battery which has always been impressive enough in Note series also sees a marginal bump with a 3200 mAh nested inside.

Samsung has chosen a new back panel for Note 3 and instead of the usual shiny plastic rear it has replaced it with a a peculiar textured faux-leather backing with even details to stitching pattern. The sides has a faux-metal band and on close scrutiny they have fine lines reminding of hardcover note pages.

The Galaxy Note 3 is thinner, lighter and has slimmer bezels than its predecessor as well in spite of the increased display size. The much touted S-Pen feature of Note 3 also sees feature enhancement. An important software addition is the new Air Command functionality. A small pop-up window that automatically springs up on the screen when the S-Pen is pulled out and offers quick access to S-Pen features like Action Memo, Scrapbook, S Finder search option and S Note. At any point of time when the assigned button on the S-Pen is clicked while the pen is hovered above the screen, it pops the Air Commond feature.

Galaxy Note 3 also includes Knox mobile security feature, which is basically the company’s enterprise and consumer security service.

Stay hooked to us for Galaxy Note 3 in coming days.
