Finally the smile-tap-share is here. Samsung launched today its Galaxy Camera powered by latest Android Jelly Bean OS in India for Rs. 29,900.
Blurring the line between Camera and Smartphones, The Galaxy Camera infuses the smartness of smartphone into the camera thanks to the Android operating system and its rich apps accessibility through play store. Galaxy Camera sports a 4.8-inch S-LCD panel with a resolution of 1280×720 pixel, a quad-core exynos processor clocked at 1.4GHz, and at the main camera ability is a 16-megapixel sensor with 21x optical zoom. It is also armed with a microSIM that supports 3G network but sorry, you cannot use the SIM to be a phone. Additionally, it also sports a microSD card slot, though it would be surprising only if it had not made its way into.

So for all those who where saving the money and eyeing the arrival of Nexus 7 in India, the wait is over. Asus made Google branded Nexus 7 tablet would be available from tomorrow in stores and the 16 GB model is priced at Rs. 19,900. The same model is available in US for $199 and no, don't open the calculator and do the dollor conversion rates now. Sighs!
Google originally launched the Nexus 7 in 8 GB, 16 GB models priced at $199 and $249. Shortly in Oct 29, Google discontinued the 8 GB model and slashed the price of 16 GB to $199 and introduced a 32 GB model for $249. Though, Asus India has no comments on the availability of 32 GB model in India. Also the company is tight lipped about the launch of the 3G model which anyhow is available only in the 32 GB Nexus 7.
Nexus 7 was launched in July and received positive reviews. Asus claims it sells around one million Nexus 7 tablets a month, which is an impressive figure for an Android tablet, that has been overshadowed by Apple's invincible iPad march.
The 7-inch screen tablet has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Nexus 7 comes with the stock Jelly Bean Android OS and is devoid of any overlays that usually the tablet OEM's skim it to their models. Nexus 7 is powered by Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. The tablet has no rear camera but sports a 1.2MP shooter on the front that allows for video calling. The 16 GB model that would retail in India would support only Wi-Fi connectivity and weighs around 340 grams and its battery promises for 9.5 hours of use.]]>

So as expectedly Apple announced iPad Mini today in a special event in San Jose that also saw the launch of 4th generation iPad, next generation iMac and 13" MacBook Pro with retina display along with few other announcements.
First thing first. Let's find out more about the new 'mini' in the tablet arena, the iPad Mini. Talking on stage, Phil Schiller explains that this "isn’t just a shrunken-down iPad, it’s an entirely new design.” So what is so new about the iPad Mini?
iPad mini sizez upto 7.9″ and has a 1024 x 768 resolution like in iPad 2. An all-new 7.2mm-thick aluminum shell ensures the mini is 53 percent lighter and 23 percent thinner than the newly announced 4th gen iPad. Finding the way inside is a dual-core Apple A5 processor, optional LTE, a 5-megapixel iSight camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, the new Lightning connector, and also promises a 10-hour battery life.
Ah, I can hear you but what would be the price of iPad Mini? The base model of iPad mini that would be a 16 GB, Wi-Fi only model is priced at $329. And for every $100 increment you would get the 32GB ($429) and 64GB ($529) variants. LTE models begins at $459 and again a $100 increment as you raise the storage space.
Apple expects to deliver a lethal blow to Amazon Kindle and Google Nexus 7 tablets with their new offering and primarily targets the device for those who basically love to indulge on web browsing and reading on their device.
Available in 2 colors – Black and White, iPad mini is available for pre-order from this Friday, October 26th, and Apple will ship it out on November 2nd.]]>

Samsung unvieled the successor to its smartphone-tablet or what everyone calls 'phablet' the Galaxy Note in IFA, Berlin. Note II is an improvised device with many impressive features both in software and hardware. It also now sports an upgraded S-Pen that comes with a S-button now.
Some of the key features of the new Note are:

AirView

Best Face camera feature

Easy Clip

Pop Up Note

Quick command

and, an upgraded S-Pen with a S-Button

On the hardware front, the new Note 2 sports a much better 5.5″ HD Super AMOLED screen offering a better clarity and a a 16:9 screen ratio for perfect viewing experience. Sitting within the second generation, Samsung Galaxy Note is a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor for smoother, faster performance and 3100mAh battery for the demanding energy needs.
One of the unique feature of Galaxy Note II that impressed me and everyone who fiddled with the device is Air View, which enabled the S-Pen to interact with the device even without touching it. So what this feature does is, it allows you to hover the S-Pen over an email, S Planner, Image gallery or video to preview the content without having to open it. It works neat, saves time, gives quick access to search and view information detail without having to get into multiple tabs or screens.

The phablet, an upgraded second generation of the Note that was launched last year has key interesting and important features that includes:

The device is aptly termed as the device for ‘expressionist’ which aids in the creative process of an individual. It opens up a lot of possibilities that is impossible in other devices and is a Pièce de résistance for anyone inclined creatively.
Promoting the device aggressively in the Indian market where it sees a considerable fan following for the phablet, Samsung India is currently running a contest in Facebook and Twitter, where 10 followers stand a chance to win a Galaxy Note II.

Ever since the invite was out, there were rumours in abundance of the smaller version of the immensely popular Samsung's flagship device, Galaxy S3. Today it has been officially unveiled at an event in Germany. Galaxy S3 Mini is here but not exactly a clone of it's larger sibling.
As expectedly true to its name, it looks similar to the Galaxy S3 but it sports a 4 inch screen but runs of the latest Android OS flavour of the season, Jelly Bean.
Though it shares the powerful S3 surname and the looks albeit the smaller size, the spec sheets of the mini device is a scaled down version of S3 and not comparable.

The device has a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 800 x 480 display packing a 233 pixels per inch and a dual-core 1GHz processor, not the same fire power that the bigger S3 flaunts. Also the camera gets a dressing down with the mini settling with a 5 MP camera against the 8 MP found in the bigger S3. The front camera has to content with a VGA resolution.

The vital stats of the phone reads as 4.8 inches by 2.5 inches by 0.39 inch and weighs 3.9 ounces, an equivalent to 121.55mm by 63mm by 9.85 mm, and 111.5 grams.

The main highlight of the device though is it runs of the latest Jelly Bean OS.
The mini also delivers many of the features that one has seen in the S3: Smart Stay, Buddy Face camera feature, burst shot, S Beam, Pop up play etc as well as features like All Share.
Name and form factor aside, outwardly the Mini is just yet another addition to the Galaxy portfolio but in a shrewd marketing move, Samsung is milking the Galaxy S3’s success and a smaller device at a lesser price carrying the S3 surname might induce many a buyers who might not afford the better, bigger pedigree.]]>

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is a 'noteworthy' upgrade to the first Note. Not only it has a notable hardware and software upgradation as well as sports an upgraded S-Pen that comes with an S-button and with good pressure sensitivity.
Best Face is one of a cool enhancement to the phablet. It is not just fun but also would be handy in 'correcting' the pictures especially when you take a group shot and not everyone gets the right 'expressions' in the image.
What Best Face feature does is, when you click a photo with the best face mode on, it gives you an option of different expressions (maximum 5) of every person's face seen in the shot. So, if you find a person has blinked or face out of focus or simply he or she is seeing elsewhere, when you click that person's face on the image it gives you a max 5 different facial expression it has captured while you shot. And you choose the right expression and in one click, it gets swapped to the person's face. Cool isn't it? We had lot of fun checking it out during our hands-on.
We have a video that we shot when we had our brief hands on. Check it out. We will come with a better video when we get our review device on hand shortly.

India is one of the earliest market to get its hands on the second generation Note device, Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100. The smartphone-tablet hybrid or phablet as the segment is popularly called now was launched in a press meet at Hyderabad on 27th of September, the very next day after Samsung kick started the global rollout by launching first in Korea the previous day.
If you might recall, Galaxy Note 2 was recently unveiled in IFA, Berlin. The device is an upgrade to the first Note launched a year back which went on to net a 10 million sales across the world. Samsung expects to sell the new Galaxy Note II to sell much more than the first device. We were there on the launch event and had a good hands-on time with the device and came out mighty impressed. Galaxy Note II is an interesting upgrade and now sports lot many unique features. Of Course we will come up with a detailed review of the device very soon.

Speaking at the launch BD Park, President & CEO, South West Asia, Samsung Electronics stated

‘By delivering a complete mobile experience for creating content and by introducing new products and continous enhancements to the Note category of devices, Samsung provides a unique user experience that goes beyond passive content consumption to a new world of productivity, active creation and personalized communications‘

Along with BD Park, Azim Warzi, VP Samsing India and the celebrity guest of the event Imitiaz Ali, acclaimed Bollywood director officially launched the Galaxy Note II in India.

Azim Warsi explained the key features of the Samsung Galaxy Note II, which we will cover in detail very soon for our readers.

Key features of Samsung Galaxy Note II

Upgraded S-Pen – there is a notable enhancement to S-Pen, which does more stuffs now. It also sports an S-button for better functionality.

AirView – This is one remarkable upgrade in Galaxy Note II, which remains of our top pick of the new add-on enhancements to the new device. AirView enables users to hover the S-Pen over image gallery, video gallery, emails, S-Planner without even touching the screen and preview the contents. It saves time, gives quick access to search and view informations without having to get into multiple tabs or screens.

Easy Clip – Just press the new S-button in the S-Pen and the S-Pen understands that you want to clip or edit the selected content on the screen. The Easy Clip feature allows you to instantly outline and crop any content on the screen in any shape to save, share or paste, even from a browser. The cropped image can be edited through coloring, sharing, or add handwritten annotations and not just that it is mighty easy to share the clip with your friends.

Popup Note – Galaxy S3 flaunted Popup Play video and now Note 2, shows off its Popup Note capabilities along with the Popup video play. Similarly, here the S-Note can be popped up anywhere in the screen and pinch zoomed to any size alongside watching video or smsing or any other activity you do on screen.

Quick command – This is one interesting feature. It lets users quickly activate frequently used apps with S-Pen. The command pad appears when a user just swipes upward on the screen with the S-Pen button pressed. Here you can pre-define set of commands or customize the commands for quick and easy access. Say you can draw a simple ‘O’ to open camera and more..

Best Face feature – Another cool enhancemnt this time to camera. When you click pics with best face feature mode on and when you preview the image, it offers you 4-5 alternate facial expressions it had captured while shooting and you can simply ‘swap’ the expression to the face. So in a group shot, if one person had blinked his eyes, it offers few other facial expression of his and you just click the one you liked and it gets swaped on the image. How cool isn’t it?

Well, we spend quiet a good time with the Galaxy Note II during the event and there are lot more cool and interesting features. Ofcourse we will detail all of them in our coming posts very soon. Keep glued to us.
