Ultra cheap, sturdy and also might come handy as a backup phone. It is also aimed at the first time buyers who would want a pocket-friendly basic phone.
Though the Smartphones are where the main actions are these days, Microsoft which acquired Nokia recently, believes there is still market left for cheap feature phones which offers reliability and long battery life that ones Nokia was famous for. Nokia 130 fits perfectly into the &#8216;mobile first&#8217; world.
Nokia 130 is the latest addition to Microsoft Devices Group’s first phone range. It offers a built-in video player, music player with up to 46 hours playback on a single charge, outstanding battery life, flashlight, FM radio and USB charging. All this comes in an ultra-cheap price of just Rs 1649. Features a 1.8” color display, standby time of up to 26 days and a sturdy design. It can store up to 6,000 songs on a 32GB SD card keeping people entertained for longer. Sharing digital content with your friends is easy with Bluetooth-enabled SLAM application and USB connectivity.
As per a statement by Mr. Viral Oza, Director – Marketing, Nokia India Sales Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of Microsoft Mobile Oy, “Armed with a distinctive design and sound entertainment, our latest device in the first phone range aims to bring the new age mobile experience at an accessible price point to our consumers. The Nokia 130 is a perfect device for consumers who are looking for their first mobile phone, or for those looking for a rock-solid backup phone to use alongside their smartphone. Ask Nokia they would be happy to show their sales chart and how Asha series helped the company hold grounds in emerging markets. Though Android based smartphones proved to be the winning formula for Samsung, the Korean giant's portfolio of feature phones and dual-SIM ones has helped the company consolidate its market share in emerging markets. With Nokia going full steam with Asha series and many local manufacturers pushing in different budget phones, Samsung needs a fresh line-up to march ahead, especially its been long since it launched a feature phone.
Rex series feature phones are Samsung's answer to Asha and other budget phones in the market and armed with dual-SIM, Wi-Fi and full touchscreen functionality laced with Samsung's TouchWiz UI this time on top of Java platform.
Samsung made the global announcement of  Rex series in its launch event in Delhi. The series of smart feature phones, as it is called by Samsung, includes Rex 90, Rex 80, Rex 70 and Rex 60.

Rex 90 is the costliest among the lot and priced at Rs. Rs 6,490 and Rex 60 is at the bottom of the spectrum priced at Rs. 4,280.
Samsung has dropped out 3G in all these four Rex series phones. The phones comes pre-installed social network applications like Chat On, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo and GTalk. All the phones also come with a 1000 mAh battery.

The phone packs a 1000 mAh battery which gives a 15 hours talk time. The camera feature is made up of a 3.2 MP shooter. Rex 90 has Smart Dual SIM with Hot Swap feature.
