Fret not, many of the Lumia devices do have LTE capabilities but were switched off in India. Today Microsoft India announced they are rolling out OTA update to some of their Lumia portfolio which will turn on the 4G switch. The select Lumia devices getting the LTE updates are:  Lumia 1520, Lumia 1320, Lumia 1020, Lumia 930, Lumia 925, Lumia 920, Lumia 830, and Lumia 625.

How to update the 4G in Lumia device?

Users of these devices can either install the latest update through the Push Notification or go to Settings > Phone update > Check for Update to manually download it. Then go to Settings > Mobile + SIM to enable 4G. Even the latest Lumia devices including the 640 XL. 640 and 540 might get the OTA update in the second round. It is good to see Microsoft sending the OTA update and enabling the existing handset to 4G. We will keep updating on the future list and other WP updates. Stay tuned.  ]]>

It is also known that it will exclusively on Flipkart and likely to be competitively priced to take on the Redmi Note and Yu Yureka. The smartphone is reportedly priced at $169 (Rs 10,500 approximately), however it is more likely to be priced around INR 8,000 when it arrives at this part of the world. The Lenovo A6000 comes with a 5-inch IPS display with a 720p resolution and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat with Vibe UI 2.0 skin on top. The hardware muscle includes a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) clocked at 1.2GHz and 1GB if RAM. Also included is 8GB internal storage with a microSD slot to expand further. Other specs include 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, twin-speakers with Dolby Digital Plus technology and a 2,300mAh battery. The company claims a 13 hours of talktime and up to 11.5 days on standby mode. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. The A6000 weighs 128grams and measures 8.2mm in thickness. It will be directly pitted against the Yu Yureka and Redmi Note 4G, both are equally affordable but has a 5.5-inch display. Though today’s announcement didn’t show the device to be compatible with the 2300MHz Band 40 (TDD-LTE) used by India’s 4G networks. It is likely when the device arrives here it will support it.  ]]>

The Redmi Note 4G is powered by a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor mated to Adreno 305GPU and 2GB RAM. Unlike the Jelly bean flavour of the Redmi Note, the 4G variant gets Android KitKat out of the box smoked by MIUI 5. The other difference being the 4G variant is a single-SIM device. It supports both FDD-LTE at 1800MHz, and TDD-LTE at 2300MHz. The differences stops here and shares the other specs like 5.5-inch HD (1280×720 pixel resolution) IPS display, 8GB internal storage, microSD slot, 3,100mAh battery, 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera.
