South India’s well known and leading mobile retailer, Sangeetha Mobiles announced today it’s plan to open stores in North Indian market. The multi-brand retail chain is a pioneer in mobile retailing having started it’s operations way back in 1997 during the early days of the introduction of mobiles in India. Having set a target of 300 retail stores across country in this fiscal year, Sangeetha Mobiles plans to launch 30 multi-brand retail outlets in the North across the states of Delhi, UP and Haryana and 100 new stores across South India. All the new stores to come up in North India will follow franchisee model. The Rs. 500 crore enterprise plans to double it’s turnover by end of FY 2014 with it’s ambitious plan to cover 300 stores by the end of the year. It currently has a footprint of 220 stores spread across the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. The consumer centric retail offerings of the mobile chain includes an add-on insurance scheme SWIFT to safeguard against mobile thefts and also quick settlement of the claim process within seven working days from the date of the claim. Other offering includes Sangeetha DELIGHT, a solution aimed at device service. In case of an issue, the team picks the mobile from the customer’s residence and also offer a standby handset till the problem with the device is rectified.
