Samsung launches Rex series feature phones; prices start at Rs 4,280

rex-series Rex 90 is the costliest among the lot and priced at Rs. Rs 6,490 and Rex 60 is at the bottom of the spectrum priced at Rs. 4,280. Samsung has dropped out 3G in all these four Rex series phones. The phones comes pre-installed social network applications like Chat On, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo and GTalk. All the phones also come with a 1000 mAh battery.

Key features of Rex 90 feature phone

Rex 90 sports a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen with a 480 * 320 pixel resolution. The Java platform OS is layered with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and has 7 home screens. The phone packs a 1000 mAh battery which gives a 15 hours talk time. The camera feature is made up of a 3.2 MP shooter. Rex 90 has Smart Dual SIM with Hot Swap feature.

Key features of Rex 80 feature phone

Rex 80 is slightly smaller than Rex 90 with a 3 inch display and also a one step down resolution of 320 * 240 pixels. It has a Dual-SIM but no smart hot swap ability here that allows to swap SIM without having to shut down the power. It has a 8 home screen and a 3 MP camera and WiFi. It includes all other features listed for Rex 90.

Key features of Rex 70 feature phone

Third in the series, Rex 70 features a 3 inch display similar to Rex 80 with 320 * 240 pixels resolutions. What differentiates though with the Rex 80 is this phone sports a true hot swap feature. On the down side, it sports a lesser 2 MP rear camera.

Key features of Rex 60 feature phone

The cheapest of the four Rex siblings, Rex 60 features a small 2.5 inch capacitive touch screen with a 320 * 240 resolutions. The camera is also very basic at 1.3 MP. No true hot swap feature but it shares the rest of the common features of Rex series. So what you think will the new range of Rex smart feature phones challenge Nokia’s Asha series?
