It’s surprising that Samsung took this long to enter the child-focused tablet market but here they are with Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids in a colorful avatar and with time management and safety-controls.
The 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 Kids as expected comes with pre-loaded apps aimed at kids. To make the app access easier, Samsung has introduced a dedicated Kids Store where one can find educational apps and tools for children. The contents vary across the board ranging from educational, games, entertainment and e-book apps.
The kids tablet also include a time management control that allows parents to set specific time periods for use. Set a time limit and when the time lapses, a password protected screen appears. If the kids want to use it beyond that time, it would require to be unlocked. It will make sure the parents can keep a check on how much time the kids spend on tablet.
Further Samsung has introduced a kids case with easy grip for children and stand options and also available is a C-Pen to let the kids unleash their drawing and merrily scribble about.
The hardware internals include 1.2 GHz dual processor, 1GB RAM, 3 megapixel front-facing camera and 1.3 megapixel rear facing camera. Though it does not boast a high-end specs, it should be good enough for your children to spend time on their tablet and not to forget the good abundance of features with your kid in mind.
To be available first in their home market, South Korea in September, it will arrive across other markets like China, Europe, US, Africa, South America and South East Asia subsequently.
