Samsung announces Galaxy Tab 2 series 10.1" version

ticket gadget announcements. Welcome 2012 and it’s time to tab 2 series which would be available in both 7 inch version and 10.1 version. Few days back the word on the 7″ was out and now comes the 10.1″ spec sheet.
Both the variants will be available in 3G and Wi-Fi versions.
While the 10.1 tab 2 will sport a 1280×800 resolution screen, the sibling 7-inch variant has a 1024×600 pixel screen.
Tech specification for Galaxy tab 2 series for both 7″ and 10.1″ variants:
The Tab 2 series both the 7″ and 10.1″ will be propelled by 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor and 1 GB Ram
Decorated and whipped by Samsung’s Touchwiz and powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
The tabs will have a 3 megapixel rear camera and a VGA in the front for video calls.
The 7-inch will be 10.5mm thick and weigh 345 g while the 10.1-inch will come in at 9.7mm thichness and weighs 588 g .
Would be available in choice of 16GB or 32GB of internal memory.
Support microSD expandable memory upto 32 GB.

While the 7″ sports a 4000 mAh battery, the 10.1″ snugs into it a much needed 7,000 mAh battery.

So what is new? Good question! While the hardware might not be a sizzler there are very few noticeable additions.
Enter the microSD slot: One of the big grouse that people had earlier was lack of microSD support, with the galaxy tab 2 series, Samsung ports in an expandable upto 32 GB microSD slot.
And yes, it would come pre-installed with the latest flavor of the Android, the Ice Cream Sandwich.
Along with GPS, now the galaxy Tab 2 also supports Russia’s Glonass. So don’t like Uncle Sam’s GPS? You got an alternate now on your tab.
And yes, the front camera has dwindled to a VGA from the earlier 2MB.
Though it now enables you to shoot a full HD video recording now from the previous 720 p.
