On the sidelines of WMC event in Barcelona, Samsung spokesperson Samsung Electronics’ mobile division chief JK Shin told Edaily, a korean news site
“We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York)… as we were bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country,”
It would be the first time a Galaxy S device, the premium Galaxy smartphone would be unveiled in US of A. Already Galaxy S4 is giving a tough battle to Apple’s iPhone and with this announcement Samsung is taking the battle right into the Apple’s heartland. Galaxy S4 would be hurting the iPhone 5 till the Cupertino based company comes out with the next edition of iPhone to counter the Samsung juggernaut. Though there is no official words on the hardware specs of the Galaxy SIV, it is widely rumoured to sport a 4.99 inch display and the recent rumours pointed to a Snapdragon 600 quad core processor and surprisingly no AMOLED screen. Well, all these are rumours, so had to be taken with a pinch of salt. One thing certain is Samsung would double the features in the new phone to make it S4 stand out in the increasingly levelled out hardware spec-sheets across the models. source: Reuters]]>
