Xolo has launched its 7-inch Nvidia Tegra 4-powered tablet in India, the Xolo Play Tegra Note, at Rs. 17,999. The company claims it as the ‘worlds fastest tablet’ and the synthetic benchmarks tests augurs well for the tall claim.
Play Tegra Note has a 7-inch HD IPS LCD (1280×800) display and is powered by a 1.8GHz Tegra 4 processor with a 72-core GeForce GPU and quad-core Cortex-A15 CPU. A 1GB RAM supports it and the tablet packs a 16GB of internal storage which is expandable upto 64GB via a microSD card.
Out of box the tablet runs on stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean but the company assures NVIDIA will be pushing OTA updates up to Android Kitkat 4.4 in later stage.
The Xolo Play Tegra Note features a 5-megapixel rear camera with HD recording support, and a VGA front-facing camera. The front also features a HD audio stereo speakers with a ‘bass reflex port’.
Connectivity options on the tablet include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, WLAN, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro HDMI, and USB 2.0. A 4100 mAh battery rated at 15.17wH as per the company works up to 8.2 hours of web browsing and up to 10 hours of HD video playback.
The Xolo Play Tegra Note tablet measures 199x119x9.6 mm, and weighs in at 320 grams. The tablet comes with a double-sided stylus which the user can use either the ends. Xylo has thrown in other features like Nvidia PureAudio technology, SmugMug camera app etc and also features Nvidia TegraZone that gives access to Tegra-optimized games and apps.
