The wait is over. Ever since Xiaomi first announced the Mi 4 last July at the time they entered the Indian market with Mi 3, the fans wanted to know when the flagship device will make its way here. Finally, it arrives to Indian shores and the Mi 4 is priced at Rs 19,999. Obviously, this model also will follow the flash-sales model that the company has popularized successfully in India and will go on sale via Flipkart on February 10. Registrations for the first sale will kick off today at 6:00PM.
Talking about the specifications, the Mi 3 successor comes with a 5-inch full HD 1080p display with a pixel density of 441ppi, and is powered by a QualcommSnapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz paired with 3GB of RAM. What would be disappointing many is that Xiaomi has brought in only the 16GB variants for India and also it does not support LTE. Mi 4 runs on the company’s own MIUI 6.0 out of the box and is based on Android 4.4.3 Kitkat.
The camera set up of Mi 4 includes a 13-megapixel rear camera featuring LED flash, 1/3” sensor size, 1.12µm pixel size, and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The smartphone also includes a 3,080mAh battery that the company claims can survive for a day and half on normal usage. Xiaomi also says the phone can charge from zero to 60% in one hour.
Xiaomi also states that the Mi 4 features a stainless steel metal frame which passes through “40 processes and 193 steps”.
Can Mi 4 replicate the success of Mi 4? The first flash sale will give us a hint and we will keep you in loop on the developments. Meanwhile, we will come up with the review very shortly.
