Watch Live: Samsung Galaxy Tab S launch event in India

Samsung India is launching the Galaxy Tab S tablets in India tomorrow at a launch event scheduled at New Delhi at 12’o clock. You can watch the Galaxy Tab S launch event live here at the link below.

The event would bring Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and 8.4 in India which were globally unveiled earlier this month at an event in New York. Samsung has prepped both the tabs to  take on Apple’s iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina display.

The talking point of both the tablets are the whooping 2560×1600 resolution on a Super AMOLED display. The Tab S are the first tablets from Samsung’s stable to come with WQXGA Super AMOLED display. Measuring just 6.6mm, they are also slightly thinner than the iPad Air and Mini with retina display.

Talking about specs, in US the Tab S feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz but it is expected that Samsung would rather include Exynos 5 octa-core SoC, which has four 1.9GHz ARM Cortex A15 cores and four 1.3GHz ARM Cortex A7 cores for Indian market, like they did with Galaxy S5 here. Both the tabs also come with 3GB of RAM while there is a 16 and 32GB ROM versions announced globally, it is likely the Samsung would bring only the 16GB version to Indian market. Though both the models has expandable memory up to 128GB.

The camera specs include a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1 megapixel front camera and both the models run on Android KitKat with an overlay of Samsung’s own TouchWiz UX and Magazine UI.

Galaxy Tab S 10.5 would pack a 7,900mAh battery while the Tab S 8.4 gets a 4,900mAh battery.

Watch the Live Event at 12:00 PM India on July 1.
