Galaxy Grand was a fairly successful model and now Samsung has announced Galaxy Grand 2 to succeed it. Like most Samsung’s sequel models the Grand 2 also features a larger display and more smart features.
If you felt Galaxy Note 3’s faux leather back panel finish was awesome departure from the usual shiny plastic body the Korean manufacturer offers for it’s range of Galaxy devices, the good news is Galaxy Grand 2 also gets Note 3’s back panel treatment. The dual-SIM device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box and features a 5.2-inch HD TFT display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels.
On the hardware side, the Galaxy Grand 2 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The camera specs include a 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera. Other hardware mentions include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, dual-SIM support and 2600mAh battery that promises up to 10 hours of playback and 17 hours of calls.
As usual Samsung’s TouchWiz UI finds place and software features like S Translator, S Travel, Story Album, Samsung Hub, Group Play and Samsung link finds way in. Also Sound and Shot features which enables to record audio snippet to your picture is included in the camera features.
Samsung has not revealed the pricing of the Galaxy Grand 2 not the availability road map but the phone will be available in black, white and pink colors.
