Google introduces Chromecast: A dongle to throw online video to TV effortlessly

Today at ‘Breakfast with Sundar Pichai” event, Google introduced its new member of its hardware device family, Chromecast, a 2-inch device that allows you to enjoy your online videos on your TV effortlessly. Talking about the online video market, Google Android and Chrome chief Sundar Pinchai stated that every month a staggering 200+ billion online videos are being watched globally and with users increasingly consuming the online videos on smartphones and tablets. How about watching the online videos on your big screen? Currently you need to upgrade, invest more on hardware devices to do it and it is cumbersome. More importantly many simply are not aware it could be done. To make your TV access the online videos easily from your tablet or smartphone or even from laptop, Google today introduced Chromecast, a small device that many might mistake it to a pendrive. google-chromecast The small dongle like device when plugged into the HDMI port of the TV gets access to the online video you are watching on your devices via WiFi and screens it on big screen. Not just screening you can control the viewing with the device making it a remote control. It works cross-platform making it compatible with both android and iOS devices. Priced at 35$ and available in Google Play store , the device is intelligent enough to handle multitasking allowing users to search for content without interrupting their on-screen viewing. Further the contents can also be queued up without stopping what people are watching and making your own playlist to watch on your TV. Developers can also access Google’s Cast SDK to integrate it with their own apps. Chromecast works not only with YouTube, but also Netflix, Google Music, Pandora, and more.
