Asus has launched FonePad in India, a 7-inch tablet with voice calling capabilities which was first announced at World Mobile Congress. Asus Fonepad is priced at Rs. 15,999.
A quick run down on the specifications, the FonePad features a 7-inch HD IPS display with a 1280×800 pixels resolutions that stacks up a 216 ppi. The device runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 chipset, PowerVR GC540 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It comes with a 16 or 32 GB internal memory option which can further be expanded with a microSD card. On the camera side, it includes a 3 megapixel rear camera and a 1.2 megapixel front camera with 720p HD video recording capability.
In terms of connectivity, the FonePad has a micro-SIM slot, supports 3G and also has voice calling capabilities, bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11, microUSB v2.0
